every image is sellable, it just depends on your target demographic, "artsy" and "unconventional" is just as much an image as "couture" or "preppy", everyone sells themselves to a point. People that just wear whatever is around just look like whatever...Do you think lady gaga dresses like that to express her individuality? It's telling that she said they basically made the keyboardist and drummer wear makeup on stage and odd clothes, that reflects an image obsession, not a natural expression.

They so are NOT stoned. Some people don't seem to know how to let their souls fly. Allow yourself to be creative without watching yourself or constantly judging yourself. Then you sound just the same as these two. - Very few people go that far. They are true artists, going beyond borders normal people never cross. (Borders are e.g. How do I look? Does the interviewer like me? Does the audience like me the way I present myself?) - Most of us never dare to cross those borders!

Just listen to their lyrics attentively: they call God a female, they cover a classical Christian song in an extremely mocking way, they use biblical events characters in rather inappropriate context. But, in the same time, the image of God in their songs is one of the most ravishing ever. This is what real art is about. That's exactly what they say in one of their interviews too. How religion has destroyed the image of God...they believe in Him, but they don't follow a religion and their image of Him is very unique. They are so awesome!

@1979descartes people either get it or not.Once I even witnessed an opinion that they are "unnatural and histrionic",and that was the very first impression. So, human perception works in very different ways, but still I believe in some kind of a universal criteria that make a true art what it is, and these girls absolutely fit into that paradigm. No matter whether they are stoned, or moody, or flamboyant or whatever. They've pledged so much into present-day music, they can do whatever they like.

to be honest, I'm not quite fond of their looks too, my personal opinion is that they looked much better in 2004-2005, but I'm okay with it, and, as I have already said, it doesn't matter what they wear or do since they're making such beautiful music.
