OH MY GAWSH SHE IS SO ADORABLE WHEN SHE SPEAKS NORMALLY. AND MORE ADORABLE WHEN SHE SINGS.

I got to see CocoRosie when they came to Toronto and they were absolutely fantastic. What an opportunity to be able to watch them perform. I love their interpretation of music.

A wonderfull breath of fresh air, in a stale musical scene. It's great to see musicians/songwriters that are not afraid to push musical boundaries while at the same time blurring the lines that define "traditional" music genres. They're are a sweet blend of melodicly haunting tones, fused with hip hop, electronic, techno, and a dash of opera. Simply amazing to see live. =)

so who would you say their influences are, based on their appearance? As an honest question without bias. i think its valid for them to state they draw more inspiration and ideas from writers, paintings, and otherworldly influences. The uniqueness of their lyrics, sounds, and appearance clearly would suggest their empowerment as humans and musicians. Though, I do think anyone who interacts with this world, so to speak, in any form, is influenced by it.

I call bullshit on them not naming Bjork as an influence.
@ShintoMachina23 күн бұрын
Most artists don't mention their main influences for fear. They fear people kind of discover the "plagiarism" and compare them to other artists, calling them a minor copy. And, sadly, people are like that. People love to compare and diminish other people's work, and they always take advantage of their influences to achieve that... so it's natural for most people to hide their main inspirations. After all, everything is just a recycle process. The airplane is a bird.

i agree..and I don't think you can separate music from art from poetry etc. they are ALL intertwined and influence each other, and always will. music is just poetry but sung. art is just the same ideas illustrated in a picture. I like cocorosie but I think that their statement about that is a bit overboard and trying too hard to sound artsy.
