The Cocos Malays in Malaysia >>The Orang Cocos of Sabah are mostly living in Lahad Datu, Kunak, Sandakan and in Tawau. Orang Cocos now has a population of 4,000 in Sabah. (About 10 times larger than the population remaining in the Cocos Islands themselves) and with a home village of Kampung Cocos near Lahad Datu in Tawau Division in Sabah. Their ancestors in Cocos Island worked in coconut plantations owned by the English. These early Cocoa Malay families shown a remarkable flair for adaptation. Elements of the English-Scottish traditions were absorbed into Cocos Malay cultural practices. Certain foods, dances and musical influences have a western flavor.

It's so sad that this Island can be one of top island to visit in the region and generate income for local Cocos, but Australia only allowed domestic flight from Perth only. And the ticket price to Coco Island is so expensive to travel to for international tourists. I

For all the tourists that went to bali are not crazy when flight to bali are around $300/person and a flight to cocos island is $1200/person. I would love to visit, but $4800 for fly the whole family over is crazy. Imagine if the domestic flights were cheap! How much tourism it would generate.

Dear my roots at home islands,been missing home with her,cathy since i've left them 5 years before to found my half-brother mongkut family in thailand..went back here at the old villain settlement balung cocos proclaiming my throne son "the wand" but denied custody of me n cathy not to be home as they'd please trying to fix you're islam for my late half-brother fuad "the twinkle twinkle" who passed away while i was caughting them in singapore,the jewish pirates n pagan(some of them here indeed)..home islands never been my custom with her,cathy the taj mahal preserving my family n for both religion islam n christian to be home to her,cathy in scotland since 150 years isolating you're guys till today here..another isolation liked cocos gonna be as they'd forgotten themselves of who they are denying my rites n custody over that son "the wand" here with cathy,taming sari for their jealousy n veangeance upons..sleepless n out of bed kind of situation not to be home without him..i don't know what are the elders gonna say about me n cathy here for them who'd to be forever lust n unforgiven twice for today once her dawn..well,anyway glad n happy to noticing my isolated books family n religion for as far as i'm concerned here,promised you my eternal life we've ever dreamt of right till dawn with her,cathy..take good care,god bless..amen
