I remember driving alone south on I-5 at night from the Bay Area to Orange County in my 1998 Honda Accord, playing this CD and this song coming on.

It was a chilly night in San Francisco. I strolled around Japantown where I had no recollection of what time it was. What I remembered was most of the shops were closed, and only a few patrons ate inside at those highly competitive ramen bars. Their spirits seemed high, I guess it was not that late but it was getting there. I entered a dimly lit small bookstore. It was pretty bright inside, but fluorescent light makes it less merry. The smell of incense burning greeted me. I have never been to a bookstore where they burn incense before. Most of the books have plastic coverings and were neatly arranged. One of the first books that caught my eyes was Bhagavad Gita, followed by Dada and Surrealist Film Collection. As I walked deeper into the store, Cocteau Twin's "The Ghost Has No Home" was playing. I stood still. Only a few moments later I caught myself walking mindlessly between the bookshelves. I went closer to the side of the store, and I saw the person behind the counter was reading a book. That person's focus seems unfazed, I am not sure if he really reads the book in that hand, or if that person also stared at the paper blankly as the ear listens to the music playing. "I like what the music is playing right now, " I told that person spontaneously. "Oh do you like it?" the person was surprised a little bit. Maybe because most of the people who approach the counter are either buying books or asking anything about books, but not this time. "Yup I'm it's fan" I replied. "Glad you like it... in fact, I'm playing their whole playlist tonight." I can see the person's face changed from serious to relaxed. "Good choice!" I smiled and escorted myself out of the bookstore.

I feel like I just discovered proof of the multiverse by floating into this video with my eyes. Such a strange proof of the distance and feelings that live in songs.

This is what depression sounds like. It’s quietly taking us away till we’re swallowed in a fog of howling cries.
