As winter comes again, I drown myself again in the both wonderful and strange sonic world of the Cocteau Twins. It's just impossible not to love their cozy, relaxed and dreamesque sound, while enjoying one of the most angelic voice the Earth ever knew. Recorded during their "Heaven Or Las Vegas Tour", a tour Robin Guthrie himself considers one of the band's best, this bootleg is well known among Cocteau fans. I tried to clean & EQ a little bit more the whole thing in order to post it to YT. The band was at the top of the hip by then, and they had recruited two new guitarists in order to reproduce the studio sound more precisely.
A lovely bootleg. Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did !

The first time I saw them was in London on this tour. As they didn't tour the Blue Bell Knoll album, hearing those songs live was euphoric. I know I was levitating all the way through that concert. What beautiful moments there can be in life.

I live in Michigan. I was only 10 when this happened. You better believe had I been 20 instead of 10 that I would have been to this show. Royal Oak is a really cool venue. By time I started going to concerts heavily, Cocteau Twins had broken up. I know we'll never get a reunion, and the ship has probably sailed even if the band was interested, so I'm thankful for recordings like this. Thank you so much for working on this and sharing it. This I believe is the 'Heaven or Las Vegas tour. Sounds like the same set list. Got the song list, an audio tape of the show & Tour Shirt from this Gem! On top of that, met RG outside the near-Philadelphia, PA venue. If memory serves me well, it was after the soundcheck. He was alone and going to the 7-11 across the street. I know this as I got there mega early. And it paid off. He gave these mates I was with, whom I had just met outside trying to score tix, tickets. And their seats were better than mine!!!

@@francisbroka9471 Too right. I remember talking with some other Fanboys outside before the gig wondering how they were going to achieve all those overdubs. Funny thing, if anyone saw this tour, for the encore, they played Blue Bell Knoll, the first song of the set Again. EF seemed a little embarrassed before she starting singing to what seemed a loop. It was also hard to understand what she was saying as her accent was a tad thick. But, we Loved it!

@@Blank_Frank The Shirts had 3 albums 1978 big hit Tell Me Your Plans, 1979 hit Laugh and Walk Away, i made a playlist of them... their first lp (the Shirts) was the biggest seller of 3, they were very populair in CBGBs at the time but, sold more records in Holland, their singer at that time was Annie Golden..they wrote all original songs , they reformed with two other singers 2006.hope you check them out is truly great i think.

Sorry but this would be 1988. These are all Blue Bell Knoll songs. 1990 was Heaven or Las Vegas.

This was 1990. They were promoting "Heaven or Las Vegas". Cocteau Twins did not tour for "Blue Bell Knoll" in 1988 and introduced some of those songs in their 1990/91 live shows.

@daniel krampf: That's simply not true. Many songs here are from 'Blue Bell Knoll' but if you *listen*, you'll also hear 'Cherry-Coloured Funk', 'Pitch The Baby', 'Iceblink Luck', 'Wolf In The Breast' and 'Road, River And Rail'; all of which are from the album 'Heaven or Las Vegas'.

Some confusion here. The show is definitely from 1990, no doubt about that. It's the exact date that is slightly out. This particular show was recorded on the 25th November 1990 (not the 24th) at the Royal Oak Theatre, Detroit as stated. The date on the 24th was at the Latin Quarter in the same city. Hope this helps!
