I think mostly because they wanted a continuation of the underwhelming conclusion in Revelations, and have more of Aether. Now that it's over, maybe people are more open to experience something fresh

@@jazzprime2010The MOB cast itself could’ve created a story I’m sure fans would’ve loved. I think now more then ever people want that reset because we get Protagonist that don’t have Character. Every crew has been the same, all have a crazy scientist/protagonist that is looking for answers of whatever….like cmon bro we’ve had that for years now.

They did reboot the story this is what they planned from the beginning. It wasn’t because of the fan boys and they rebooted it into an absolute shit story what happened before would’ve worked better for the next two games but instead they had to come up with the chaos storyline which was pure garbage, cool looking but still garbage and then they have the end the ether storyline with a crappy ending they could’ve prolong that for two more games and I would’ve cared less, but instead they killed it off said they were restarting the whole zombies universe which they did and that’s exactly what they said they were gonna do not based on the fans since the last time they listened to fans, they brought back the staff with no context other than saying well it’s linked through a prior map in a new universe, which is kind of stupid and then there’s the fact thatthey brought back so many other weapons and also gobble gums for really no reason other than to try and get old fan base of cot to play the game, but it’s still garbage and it’s not like them rebooting the story. We’ll fix it anyway because the engine that it’s in and everything else about the game is absolute garbage you can change the storyline and not follow off of the original storyline to some degree and it would still be shit.

Isn't that how stories work? If you want to start reading the 6th Harry Potter book, you have LOTS to catch up on. Each game contains it's own story you don't need anything before to grasp.

Yes but they keep going and going and adding more and more and more to the already convoluted story. People just want it to end and to have a more simple and grounded story. Its like if Harry Potter had 600 books with multiple casts of the same characters but in the same yet different universe with hidden messages and other easter eggs hidden inside and if you don't find those easter eggs you wouldn't understand things that are integral to the story.

You’re not wrong. But when the story is this convoluted it just gets hard to follow. Same issue with Marvel. Used to love it, then it became there was something new every month to where it’s just annoying. Add in multiverses which i absolutely despise 80% of the time. At this point i don’t even care about what’s happening in the story because it doesn’t hold the same weight as the old storylines.

That’s like saying Legend of Zelda timeline is too complicated, better just scrap everything and reset and make a totally different brand new story. There are aspects of some of the LoZ games that don’t cross into the others (similar to the dragons you are mentioning). There are 3 timelines in Zelda (similar to the story arch’s/timelines in zombies) and it’s an absolute masterpiece series that remains popular. Saying that Zombies needs to scrap everything and start fresh 1) disregards everything they’ve built so far and 2) disregards the fans who have followed the story so far. Just because it’s complex doesn’t mean it needs to change. Edit: I bring up the LoZ similarity simply because it shows that a very complex multi-timeline franchise can be successful and attractive to many fans.

As someone who’s never played the Zelda games it certainly sounds like it could be just as confusing as cod, zombies. I’m not arguing that cod Zombies is not popular because it very much is and the story while confusing obviously keeps bringing people back. To me it feels like they’ve done way too much have written themselves into so many corners that they’re trying to get out of and all these interconnecting stories are just way too confusing for me personally. I’m sure they will not do a full reset. It’s just something that I would personally like eventually, you have to give the story a rest.

I wish they gave the player the option of different match queues. I’ve been back into zombies after not playing games for like 10yrs and it’s frustrating being forced to exfil over and over. Zombies for me was always about how far you can get and exfil has killed that. Same for being thrown into matches that have already started, I want to start from round 1 every time not join a random ongoing match.

I get it about the ongoing matches, but i mean, what forces you to exfill? Im prestige master only by playing zombies and until this day i have only extracted like 4 times

@ I play a lot of random squad zombies and by round 31 the other players usually initiate the exfil vote and almost every time I’ll get outvoted on it. I’m probably in the minority on this but I don’t get the point of xp, prestige, or camo grinds. I like doing a lot of different challenges like a one gun only run or things like that just to see how far I can get but I’m my experience when the game starts to get hard people want to quit to get the xp

Theres 3 main things I think would fix zombies 1-Either Stick with the same crew(RIP Takeo) or Cast a crew that are interesting and not just a rinse and repeat crew with the same concept. 2-make more original maps. I think implementing more real world building has always been a cool concept. MOB , DE, Kino, etc. 3-leave zombies strictly a zombies mode, I think bo3 did it best. But why am I in a chopper gunning zombies down😂? Why do I have to put on armor if I have jug? Why do we have a bench where I can buy any lethal but I have to be level 55 to unlock all of them? Am I playing Warzone or am I playing Zombies?

I’ve held the opinion that the zombies storyline needed a reset for a few years now. I very much enjoy the new games, I just don’t care for the story as much. I think BOCW was one of the best games for zombies mechanically. It’s not parasitic, it’s holding a valid opinion and attempting to explain my position. Nowhere in the video did I say the devs are trash and that COD zombies sucks as a whole. Having a valid critique does not automatically mean I automatically hate the thing. Plus blame KZbin for seemingly not pushing out positive commentary.

I don’t hate the idea but my issue is what would the story be? Someone makes experiments and creates zombies okay but what’s the Easter eggs and story? I feel like there’s not much interest in you can do with just “guy makes zombies” yk

Fair point. I’ve been playing zombies since the start so there didn’t used to be EEs. So the OG story of experiments was fine. My guess would be if you go the “realistic route” Easter eggs could be puzzles that unlock areas in which you get to see such experiments and progress the story. Look at the EEs in a game like “Sker Ritual” the story is relatively grounded (within reason) and EEs unlock new lore and areas and boss fights. Quite enjoyable without being too crazy

The original crew is so good that’s why they keep coming back but the more they bring them back the less it matters and the novelty wears off. I love the story probably up until BO3 when the multiverse came into it. It’s too confusing now. You have the Primis and Ultimis crew which originally seemed like the same people just different points in time then it seems like they’re different universes but same people. Then you add a whole other crew who was supposed to be separate (chaos story) and then a multiverse, then the chaos story does tie into it but some retcons. It’s just way too much going on, way too confusing. And this is coming from a guy who has played since the start and has done every 3arc EE (with the exception of tranzit currently)
