Hi! have a deaf aunt and I myself am HOH. My aunts, mom, and grandma know sign, but I was never taught. Most of my interactions are “vague sound (fill in the gap)” it leads to hilarious (but mostly frustrating) misunderstandings. Closed captions are my friends! Could you please include them in future videos? I don’t know ASL and voice overs sometimes makes things worse.

Please don’t forget the HOH community! We don’t all sign.

@@7thgradeEnglish You're right it seems odd that they don't add captions. But it's never too late to learn to sign! ;) ~:~

I know you both are CODA but I wonder if you both are hearing?
@matthewissa4 жыл бұрын
yes, that is what CODA means.

@@matthewissa CODA means child of Deaf adult, it does not mean the child is hearing or deaf. But yes, they are both hearing.
@matthewissa4 жыл бұрын
@@marypalmer980 While this sounds right, that's not the case. If a CODA is Deaf they would identify as Deaf, not as a CODA. CODAs refer to Hearing Children of Deaf Adults.
