Code Geass came out in October 2006. Yes, nearly 20 years ago, and like Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, has proven to be one of the very best and timeless anime ever produced. If it were not for Code Geass, there could not be an Attack on Titan or Death Note. Prepare yourselves. You two are eating with kings, now.

The anime may have come out in the same year but the Death Note manga was first published in 2003. Code Geass was an original anime with no source material so its release was 3 years after Death Note

Just like death note, and attack on titan. This show also shows what a crazy power can do to a human morals. But I think this show brings out beauty out of power unlike the others. Probably the main thing to look out for as you are watching and compare lelouch character to Eren or light

hope you enjoy Code Geass and i just wanted to say keep the anime series called Fate on your radar to look out for and if you don't know where to start with Fate then I'll say stating with Fate/Zero is a good bet because it basically acts as a sort of prequel to Fate/Stay Night which Fate/Stay Night is actually broken into 3 different versions I guess you could say because the 3 of them are basically the same story just different imaginings of the story and those 3 are Fate/Stay Night, then Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works, and then Fate/Stay Night Heavens Feel and after that if you still want more you can try the one spin off called Fate/Apocrypha because Fate/Apocrypha timeline wise takes place after the Fate/Stay Night Series only it continues the story as if Fate/Stay Night never happened basically any other Fate spin offs are there own separate things that do not connect to I guess what you would call the Main series but if you want more at that point give them a go as well
