So it is just as I thought it would be. I'm heavily against the movie series, becuase I watched the OG Series and went for the 3rd movie - of cause it blowed my mind when Shirley was in there. All the little "story expansions" were really interesting to know. But to cut out so much for recap movies made them uncompareable. I will always tell others: If they have the time to spare, watch the TV series. If you don't care that much, then... don't watch it.

As someone who watched the first CG series way back when, I still enjoyed the movie recaps for the original new scenes as well as superior animation quality. There were some parts from the TV series I wish could have been added like the Mao arc but its still a pretty good re-telling of the Code Geass story. I honestly think Resurrection should have been written to fit the timeline of the TV series but I guess the writers regretted killing off Shirley and probably didn't want to anger Lelouch/Kallen, Lelouch/Shirley fans so they made this alternate timeline where Lelouch chooses CC so the ships from the original Code Geass would still be valid.

They had to rehash the whole thing to fit the format-you just can't repeat the same melody throughout the movie (variations, though, are OK). They got that nice "Zero hymn" included and everything, but all in all, this resulted in some of the music-related associations lost :)

The movie did produce some bandage heal to the main storyline of tv series, but it is more for fan since they need to give a reason for Lelouch to live and produce cash. I mean, it is better if u watch movie as supportive role to understand some bits in the tv series. Still, Lelouch death and after effect in the 2nd seasons tv series should put the PERIOD to the audience, leading the sad but greatest ending. By changing the whole series into an movie, it’s like what happen to attack on titan conclusion.

One thing that I noticed in the movie is how fast most of the scenes move to another in which there is no space in between. As for the scenes like Euphy's introduction episode and the Kaminejima one, I feel like they are very important and needs to be in the movie but at the same time it makes no sense putting those scenes in their original form due to how the movie was made. The 2 things that absolutely made no sense to me in the movie was when Jeremiah suddenly switched sides and the entire Geass order attack.

Things are simple. Even creators were lying to their watchers all along. They were contradicting their own statements when original was still an ongoing show, and only agreed on the dying part. Hence, when the series ended they saw most popular fan beliefs/ preferences and decided to adapt them, so to milk the cow... I accept the movies as a different canon, but has nothing to do with ORIGINAL canon. Ressurection later was mostly a fanfic ruining Zero Requiem's purpose, utterly disrespecting Lelouch's wish, turned most characters OOC and making Lelouch/ GaryStuch half immortal would only create more plotholes in the near future for Lelouch's arc, hence the farce had to be stopped... R3 could continue from OG with C2 searching new contracts, as she was mostly watching humanity as a superior being. Nunnaly would be a nice MC as well. There'd be many options, anyway.

dead or alive shirley doesn't affect the plot of the story much of code gess but if euphemia had not died it would drastically affect the whole story.also the 4 movies served to create a new series that connects the 4 movies called code geass z of the recapture which opens in 2021.

Well, Shirley herself isn't all that significant of a character but since she was the one who retrieved Lelouch's body after his assassination and brought it to CC, his revival was possible.

One question now is that I saw the cinematic trilogy of Gias Code and then I saw the last movie, I don't need to see it two seasons ago? Because they say that this cinematic trilogy is the same two seasons of anime that have just been reconstructed and in terms of story are very different from the previous two seasons and that old series ended in two seasons, but this series in which Luluch comes alive is still going on.

This whole movie adaptation exists only and only because R1 and R2 were that good. My suggestion would be to take a break and then watch the originals. But all in all, you don’t necessarily “need” to see it-you are “destined” to see it. Hope that answers your question. Then again, what kind of reply did you expect from a person whose video description says, “Just go and watch the TV Series”?

I mean, well, trying to adapt an entire T.V. Series, into a 1-2 hour length film, is not gonna make a good product. Just watch the live action Avatar The Last Airbender movie, to see what I mean. But I mean. You could make a film based, or is an entirely new story related to the original series, then it would be easier to make a movie about it. Like with the Lego Ninjago movie. A movie about the Ninjago T.V. Show. But instead of trying to recap/adapt the entire show (Because realistically, it is impossible), they just opted to make a new story

@@LAFLAME1111 Well, considering that the anime was 50 episodes long and had to be shortened to 6 hours for the movie trilogy, I think its a decent retelling of the Code Geass story. I've seen worse.

@@youngheart16 Alternate universe yes. But the alternate universe is apparently the new ”main” universe, and the new main canon. Both are canon, but the alternate universe is meant to have the main ending.

And this alternative universe was created for fanservice only. Even Ichirou Okouchi, the creator and author of the series, is not involved. He had never wanted these Alternative movies. It was Sunrise who brought out the alternative universe. Because they need money. The main universe is definite and the Alternative universe is only alternative. Not new main.

There was no need for such an recap. If they want to create an alternative universe and they have to fit the story into the movies; THEN it would be BETTER for them to make 4 movies + Re;surrection. Character development is very sudden and uncertain. The changed OSTs almost destroyed the magic. There are too many plot holes and unanswered questions. Lelouch's life is less dramatic and less experienced. They wanted to improve the drawings, but the quality of the drawing would be better if it was done like "Akito the Exiled". I like Re;surrection. It is a good movie but I think the Recap Movie Trilogy sucks.
