As good as season 1 is, season 2 is where this show really formed an identity of it's own.The animation is better, Aileta is a regular character and is has a more human like personality, Jim starts calling the kids by their last names, we also have new characters, vehicles, and monsters, and sector 5. On top of that we have an actual story arc in place and every episode is more than just a deadly Xana attack. Season 2 is really where this show begins.

Season 1 is basically animators messing and testing their animating skills pretty much. Season 2 is a story mode mostly,repetitive but with differences. Season 3 is similiar yet the difference is that Xana is at it,much more at it. Season 4 is just hella awesome.

Everybody is talking about how the animation has improved, but I'm more excited about the WRITING. Xana does something new for once, Ulrich and Yumi's relationship is directly questioned (finally), Aélita's backstory is explored, William is introduced as a new character, and overall the episodes are becoming much more interesting.

Eh I will agree that Odd probably had the better transportation but his powers would be a pain in the ass to deal with what with having to wait for Jeremy to reload his arrows. I didn’t realize until years later that this show took place in France, because nothing ever stood out to me as overtly “Frenchy”, but Aelita saying she’s from Canada works so well regardless if the show was set in the US or France. English and French are Canada’s two official languages, so nobody would question why she could speak the local language so well. Another reason why I just assumed the show took place in the US was because a common joke in shows here is to say you’re an exchange student from Canada if you have something to hide (Lewis from “Meet the Robinsons” comes to mind). Side note: I finally realized they were in Europe when I saw them putting Euros into the drink machine, lol.

I like re-watching this episode. Especially after reading Chronicles. It hits so much more differently when we learn about XANA's backstory and the things Franz was involved with before he and Aelita ended up on Lyoko. In fact, all the moments involving the Hermitage, Franz and Aelita's past are more interesting after reading the books. It gives it so much more depth in my opinion.

3:19 I always thought that the eye of XANA was this things eye and those six slits were extra nostrils on the end of a sort of beak. Knowing now that those slits are it's eyes makes the whole thing more unsettling. A humanoid physique, a smaller, uncanny valley, mask-like face, that weird spine angle for where the eye of Xana is placed. Ugh. So creepy. SO COOL.

4:05 to 5:11 even though the tarantula is new and the lyoko warriors have no idea how to deal with it, still manages to kill all of them single handedly but then later in the series the tarantula becomes the monster with the worst accuracy of all; in some episodes they are seen in pairs (or maybe even 3) missing ALL of their shots point blank

Guillermo Maguina well the tarantula's lasers are based of a gun M60 has accuracy but bad shooting accuracy but it works good Odd is the best against the monster because his laser arrows are based off a sniper very good accuracy and always hits its target yumi and ulrich may kill it onxe in a while but they get kill of they too close ulrich has lightning fast speed defense so he good with lazers espcially in season 4 when he has 2 swords sorry if this message is so long im a code lyoko superfan
