How To Use Developer Documentation

There comes a time in every developer's journey, no matter where you're learning, where you have to leave tutorials behind and use developer documentation. Documentation helps you to stay up to date, figure out a tough problem, and a whole lot more. The problem is, "developer documentation" is a pretty broad term, and a lot of examples are very intimidating and dense, especially to beginners. As someone who is learning html css and js. This video is probably 100x more important than any tutorial ive watched. You cant expect someone to hold your hand as you are a developer on the job. You need to learn to be your own teacher. And not rely on others.

Good choice of topic. I searched for this type of thing recently and to my surprise found almost nothing. Your video is a good start. However I would have liked to see you get into some of the more nitty gritty stuff as far as understanding the syntax of docs goes. Often I find it rather cryptic.

Maybe try specific videos for npm or maybe a specific library, or a couple languages and if there are videos see if maybe there’s common denominators and maybe this is a video you can create!

Think of keywords of the problem => search for results MDN documentation have interactive examples Understand the code by executing it by yourself. It's ok to copy the sample code and manipulate it to your situation.

Read the code ...break it by bits, search on what each bit or code snippet doing ...put it all together and try to understand the primary objective .
