Most unique album I’ve heard in a long time. Found it as a Ceschi fan. New listener to Sam but holy $hit he MAKES this. Definitely been listening to Get Dead since finding this band. Solid review!

Great review of a killer album. The best thing I’ve heard in years, that was good enough to get me really excited about a group and have to show some self control to stop myself from playing it too many times. Don’t want to dilute such good tracks by over playing them. So stoked on the talents that get together to make this album what it is. I hope I get a chance to catch them live.

When I saw them in April they did the album closer on the floor with everyone. We all huddled up and sang together into Sam's and Ceschi's mics. Crazy intimate performance. Awesome band

Ceschi and Sam rock so hard when they're together, such a good album

This is the best review. You nailed each song and pulled some of my favorite lyrics. I’m a big Get Dead fan and a long time NOFX fan. This album is so different from anything else I’ve heard. Fat Mike said they are half way done with their next album so I’m anxiously, patiently waiting

The sam’s verse in Brutiful is so touching. Talking about his divorce and his fathers death. deep shit.

I like the review! I took a chance on this record a few days ago without knowing what it was. And while not a typical genre for me, I loved it. Now I know more about it, thanks!

I've been looking forward to the Codefendants since they dropped a small acoustic teaser (Fat Mike's Fat Mic - The First Campfire at Fatty's isn't Recorded Well -July 2022) That was my first exposure to Ceschi and it made me hungry for more of his material. I have definitely been living under a rock but he has become one of my favorite artists in a very short amount of time. I loved listening to Stacey Dee on the two songs in this album and I am excited to see what comes next. I feel its important to mention, there's a 5 part series on the Fat Wreck YT channel. And each of their videos tells a story about the fentanyl epidemic and follows the 'accused dealers' (Ceschi and Sam) to court, where they face Judge Fat Mike and The DOC makes his appearance as the lawyer. The videos feature Factor Chandler, Stacey Dee, N8noface, the dudes from Zeta (who perform w/ the Codefendants while on tour) and many others whose faces I recognize but cant put a name to the face. Please check it out if you already havent..

I've come to the conclusion that anything Sam King is involved in is automatically gold. I love how he always looks/sounds like he's about 4 seconds away from throwing up, but he nails it every time. He's such a fascinating dude. I also discovered Ceschi through this project, and he's becoming one of my favourite artists. I love how The D.O.C's voice just comes in like a mac truck on Fast Ones. So good. Did I miss it, or did you skip over Bad Business? That song goes fucking HARD.

Bad Business was released after the album, as well the albums titletrack for some weird, weird reason.

Agree with every single word you said, despite I finding them around Ribbed which just about made me popular in the pre-internet stone age. Having taken a few of the same wrong turns as Sam and Cesci it's easy to feel as the core audience. And I love the "shit happens but you don't always have the greatest choices available. And then you just live it down " attitude that underlines every message on this, in my opinion, the best record since Out Come The Wolves. Be well!

1) Fat Mike is the guy that got The D.O.C. back on the mic FUCK I am here for it 2) Growing up in the 90's in San Jose Sam and Ceschi really are a dope diatomic art style of the; stale wet card bord that is Bay 3) [I find this so important] Hip Hop and Punk Rock have the same blood and this is the shit that proves it, I replaced my back patch recently from Bad Brains to Codefendants (turning pipe dreams to pipe bombs with you) because as a angry, yet, loving punk that line goes so fucking hard 4) Sam is just a dope fucking dude, Ceschi took time out of his day to ask me if I was OK in a med tent at Punk In Drublick (PDX) [Spoiler alert: I was not, had a big ass lac on my dome and landed wrong on my arm... my dumb ass went AMA and straight in the pit again] This album along with Somewhere In The Between by Streetlight Manifesto really do show that punk cross-overs do work

Great review, but did I miss or did you forgot to mention Disaster scenes? This one starts really poppy but hits really hard with the lyrics. Getting goosebumps every time🤯. Of btw.... Def Cons starts with kind of reggae, not ska
@mykectown Жыл бұрын
Reggae came from ska and their sounds are similar. Especially in guitar sound. So, no, I say it's ska.
