In this episode of unreal engine thunder and lighting system, I am going to add sounds to the system. I will add both rain sounds and thunder/lightning sounds. Also I will work on how to give variations to the lightning effect so it will have random shapes.

Thank you for the tutorial, it is really great! Personally I linked the exposure of the post process volume to the timeline Thunder_Strike like the emission and the Y mask opacity (in the event Strike) as the light of the environment depends of the intensity of the lightning at a giving point of time. Similarly, I use the distance from the lightning to the character calculate in the node "relocate" to play sound at location with an attenuation, as the sound of the thunder depends on the distance between the character and the lightning. Finally, the delay of the play sound at location is also link to the timeline Thunder_Strike as the delay before hearing the lightning also depend on the distance between the character and the lightning (and the further is the lightning lower will the intensity of the light and the sound).

Really good tutorial, had to make some minor adjustments to make it work properly in UE5 but still a really good effect. 👍
