Moving to the burbs is such a lame move. I’m from Philly and live in Chicago now, and our sports culture in Philly just has more integrity. We’d never even consider sending the Eagles out to the burbs. If the Bears move then they have to change their name to the Arlington Bears, or at least the Illinois Bears, right? Or are Chicagoans just cool with people from Arlington/Wheaton/Joliet/Aurora etc. saying they’re from Chicago? Lol

Nice short but this info is very outdated. The Bears now own that land. The racetrack has been knocked down (shame too, I'd been there and it was awesome). Bears just worked out a tax deal with Arlington Heights should they ever develop that land. The main hangup right now preventing the Bears from building a new stadium on the lakefront is taxpayer funding, where the Illinois governor doesn't want to give the Bears a dime of taxpayer money (rightly so). So if those talks continue to stall, they may end up building their new stadium out in Arlington Heights. Basically the Bears are in a win-win situation right now. They have the city of Chicago by the balls, i.e. if they don't get their way with the funding they'll just move out to the suburbs. But for history's sake they want to remain downtown if possible, but the governor isn't budging on public funding. So right now the issue is money above all else.

I was pissed when they built the addition. It made the stadium look like anus. Also, the OG historical home is in Decatur, not shitcago.
