How true is this?! My narcissistic parent cares about their image and reputation from the people this person doesn't even hang out with at all.

You become their enemy for life. They are revengeful.

Mom would completely breakdown when she didn't have money... Her spending, gambling or partner status would also trigger her behavior ...

This so true that it shut me up for 51 years never ever spoken my true feelings. Till I finally got into a healthy and completely safe relationship and than I was done. I stood up for my self for the first time in my life in a polite manner but was thrown out by my father and sister immediately. Talking about being extremely destructive and showing their true colors... Thank you so much for your help and guidance how to deal with this very destructive way to have to live and how to get away from it. You’re saving souls and maybe even lives! At least you have saved mine…. And I am forever thankful to you! ©️🙏❤️‍🩹

I think true colors is a bit strong. If people are meanly backed into a corner and they get triggered I wouldn’t necessarily say that’s true colors. There might be some work to be done. Just saying.

No,. True colors come out in the moments when we are triggered. At other times we wear a mask.

I would say, just about every person on the planet put in this situation would have some type of reaction. It’s like poking/provoking an animal over & over, then you get bit or mauled. And especially bully situations. Paraphrasing Isaiah 58 I think, God calls it roaring like a lion & then becoming like a wounded dove. It’s funny how we can see it in every one else & not ourselves.
