This is so cool! I didn't know Mexicans were writing classical music type stuff back in the day. I was expecting mariachi music or something when I saw the Spanish title of the video with the squigly "n" in the title and the Mexican name "Martinez." You guys really keep it fresh and new with the music you play. Please keep up the great work!

I think it's Mexican music because of the Spanish squiggly thing over the "n" and the Mexican name "Martinez" (there was a Mexican kid in my class back in high school and his last name was "Martinez").

It's music from Peru in the late XVIIIth century. This music is from the Codex Martínez-Compañon, a compilation made by the bishop if Trujillo an Bogotá Baltasar Jaime Martínez Compañon as gift to King Charles the third. You see a strong mix between quechua and aimara and european music during this time.

Con perdón, no son tomadas y kachuas, son tomadas kechuas. Tienen todo el estilo de la música andina. Kechuas Aymara.

Tonadas y Cachuas en este caso se refieren a tipos o estilos musicales de la era colonial peruana

Estas equivocado amigo, no son aymaras, son tonadas recopiladas por el obispo Martinez Compañon en el norte del Perú, en esa zona no se habla Aymara, y tambien Cachuas es un ritmo andino similar al huayno.
