Hey, I don’t often comment on videos, but I just had to for this one. I’m a software developer working mostly in web and cloud these days (corporate stuff), but my roots are in C/C++. Your videos have truly inspired me to revisit low-level languages and explore them recreationally again. They reminded me why I started coding in the first place-not to make my boss richer or crank out story points, but to create things that excite me. Whether it’s experimenting with a new library, building something cool inspired by science, exploring other fields of interest, or developing games-those are the things that first sparked my passion for computer science. I really enjoy your videos. They’re inspiring for beginners and experienced developers like me alike. If you keep this up, I’m sure you’ll become a big name on KZbin one day. Your content is amazing! It’s not about being an expert in everything-that would just make it another job. Instead, it’s about keeping the fun alive. Beste Grüße! ;)

Thanks a lot, this is one of my all-time favorite comments! People need to stop coding damn recipe apps and finally start playing around with code and technologies that really interest them. Too bad too many people get sucked into learning the latest frameworks they expect will earn them the most money. Always remember to have fun and enjoy!

are you planning on making videos doing zig? I think that might be interesting. I also heard that zig has an awesome build system that can also be used for c, even if you dont use the zig language itself with cross compile feature
@requestfx5585Ай бұрын
and sdl3 is "stable" now. might be worth switching to sdl3, maybe in combination with zig build system?

I'm addict to your videos. I made my version of the game of life, but running in the terminal, I haven't finished it yet, and I need to understand why it doesn't generate all kinds of block types. I never tried to do something on my own, thinking I wouldn't know how to do it. But watching you research and test, I'm trying to venture too

Greeat vid. Just one question why u cant just add color as parameter on Cell struct. Insted of manualy seting it in draw fuction
@HirschDanielАй бұрын
Because any data type should only contain fields that define it. A color is a property of graphical representation. The cell already contains the "type" property. The color is then derived from the type (liquid of solid).

hey, is this possible to do on a windows machine?
@HirschDanielАй бұрын
Yes, I am doing this on windows. You need to setup WSL (Windows subsystem for Linux)
@TheRationalBirdАй бұрын
Is this WSL?
@HirschDanielАй бұрын
Yes!

@@HirschDanielI figured. That's what I use too. Very convenient.
