Do you unplug it once it's unlocked and visible on the screen or do you have to leave it in place and try to cover it up so no water or dirt get in there?

No... he is jumping the connector where the plug normally goes... so this is to save buying the "plug" from BMW

Is he obliged to have the dynamic mode to unlock the dynamic mode pro? I only have road and rain mode.

Heya JBimmer, nice of you to post this one. I bought recently (a week ago) a S1000R used and I guess the plug has been put into it because Dynamic Pro has been unlocked since I got it. I noticed one thing though, you got a straight exhaust but the ticking from the engine is quite audible, mine ticks as well but not from cold... your engine at operating temperature already which seems to match my own experience. And how long you've owned it? Have you noticed the noise?

I did notice the noise when I got it. The previous owner I bought it from said it made that noise since the day he got it. I checked the cams and the clutch basket springs and all checks out fine. I just forget about it and enjoy the bike. Cheers

@@jbimmer9799 Referenced it because I'd thought that having an exhaust installed would baffle the engine noise and wanted to let you know. Nice "hack", funny that the manual references it's a coded plug but it seems you only need to jump it
