Never heard your story man. Very fascinating to hear that you were completely self taught and managed to land a position in a quant firm. It kind of shows that people don't necessarily need to go to university for all of that stuff to wind up in quantitative finance. Just need to put in the work.

incredible conversation, I am finishing my degree in finance and have started delving into solving financial problems using python . Such conversations show I am on the right track. Keep up the good work.

With the pet project I will also add employers don't want them to be overly complicated but barely functioning. Simpler projects that are robust and maticulously tested and documented is much, much more appealing.

Really learnt a lot from your video! Particularly your clarification and explanation on the differences between the roles in quant. You went in depth into what Quant Researchers and Devs do. Could you explain in the same way you did for the other two what Quant Traders work on?

On the same path of trying to break into the self taught HFT space...nearly impossible in Europe and this fucked up market... in my country they are still too focused on degrees and not professional merit...

Someone needs to breakdown graduate quant trader roles in different market making/trading firms like Optiver, Jane street, SIG, Flow traders etc. First of all not all quant trading is options trading. I don't know why I only find stochastic calculus/ option pricing courses whenever I am looking for quant trading related courses. A quant generally refers to ppl who are pricing and creating products for trading desk in banks....buts its 2024 and we are passed that. We want to know what quant trading is ....and it has nothing to do with fuckin stochastic calculus.....
@markstewart606926 күн бұрын
Yea , stochastic calc is kinda for pricing have you looking into empirical and drift models that’s what they are teaching at Colombia
