Also the Cubs don't need Bellinger after getting Tucker and they also have Michael Bush to play 1st base. Yes they need to address 1st base. Nobody other than the Yankees was willing to take that contract. I do believe Bellinger will bounce back with the Yankees in that stadium. Yes is a win-win trade.

I Knew that The Yankees Made the Best decision ever to let Go of Juan Soto. The Yankees will win the world championship Series next year if they go after & acquire Pete Alonso.. I am glad how Yankees are changing the bullpen line ups with better players. In the meantime, I would like to see a change on the mistakes that Aaron Boone made during the playoffs & World Series. He needs more training & assistance to make the proper calls on the game plate & know when to chage pitchers at a difficult time. Still remember the excitement here in Chicago when Belli signed with the Cubs again last year feeling they couldn't win without him. Belli being an alternating good year then bad year, then good again guy, the Cubbies may learn to regret giving up on him.

Bellinger was told he was playing CF in NY, and moving Bellinger to NY saves the Cubs money toward possibly keeping Tucker (who also signed Kelly). The move benefits both teams.

Yankees get a B+. It fills a need but isn't the biggest sizzle. Cubs get a C+ but the trade was simply opening the 24M in CBT. That's what their side of the trade was for.

Good fit for everyone. Bellinger fits in CF and can spell at 1B. Cubs didn’t have anywhere for regular ABs and clears room to sign a pair of relievers and can cover for the trade of a SP. Also, I’d be floored if Bellinger opts in next year. He most certainly will be opting out to seek a multi year deal.

Because Bellinger became a redundant luxury. With Happ is LF, PCA in CF, and Tucker in RF, there was no place for him to get solid playing time. Suzuki will DH and spell the corner OF. Busch was as productive and cost about 1/30th. Now they have roughly 50M to shore up the bull pen and have space to see if Ricketts will change his tune on big contracts to re-sign Tucker.
