Cody Capers with fun & failures

I started with four Cody Kites to fly together but ended with only three.
An afternoon of flying fun and failures.

Sad to see the end of a good kite, Carl. But good to see the Cody Pro still performing well. I don't think I ever got to fly it against a blue sky - looks good!

Thanks Jim. The Cody Pro has proven to be a great Cody to have. Quick and easy to assemble and able to fly in lighter winds. The new little China Cody was only just able to hang on flying a little longer as the wind faded.

I love Cody Kites and just recently had to send one to the dump (sail only) because of dry rot. It was a small one like the one you have here & at least 20 years old. LoL Now I only have the Green's of Burnley Cody & I've had to repair it before, so fingers crossed!

Sounds like you have enjoyed your Cody kites. Pleased your Green's Cody is still flying. can't be too many of them seen flying. I have herd people call them the king of kites.

A nice video Carl. Shame about the Cody. I am going to make a Cody soon, I think they are great Kites. It does appear that the bigger ones are more stable.

Hello Graham. Nice to hear from you. The bigger Codys look magnificent and they have a very strong pull. Some fliers add a type of "air brake" across the rear to steady them in stronger winds. Interestingly the smaller and cheap little Cody from China that Jim showed in a recent video is very stable and in a steady breeze remains fixed in on spot.

Always fancied a Cody but haven't aquired one yet, might have to rectify this. Shame about the nylon Cody, if that was mine it would deffinately join the que waiting to be repaired. I've only just found this video because my computer hard drive died last weekend, thankfully i have a computer savy friend who fitted a new hard drive for me.

I had a very patched up Hargreave type box kite, which i made when i was at school, that did years of sterling service until it broke free three years ago in a gust, i searched for hours for it but i think someone else found it first and kept it for themselves, i really miss that kite so it is time i got another large box kite, a Cody would be ideal. I think i have discovered how to clean my camera, if i can get the right cleaning equipement i won't be inflicting 'hairy' videos upon you anymore.

So sad to see that Cody come crashing down. Is that the same China Cody that Jim Nichols did a vid on that cost about $15? I just ordered one of those 2 days ago. It actually looks nice from the vids.

Mine was shipped yesterday. Can't wait to get it. I'm just waiting for the winter snow fences to be removed from the beach, then it's fun time.

Yes Jim suggested I would like one. It's made to a budget price but it's a great little flier. Once up high it just sits there until the wind finally fades. I think I will get another one.

Greetings Glenn. I wish I had the skills to remake a new sail to cover the old spars but for now I fly other makers kites. Just discovered that the Buffalo Cody Company is still creating custom kites.
