Cody's win against Cruz stands out as one of the best performances in the octagon. If he was able to consistently tap into that wild potential he would probably still have the belt today.

False, he was trained to beat specifically that style after that countless failures of his teammates at Team Alpha Male. He was designed to beat Cruz and he didn't have the wrinkles to beat other styles, not the composure.

I like that he admitted at age 25 that nobody could tell him anything. That’s why he was such a hothead. Too much fame too fast for him with his lack of maturity. Dude had a tough upbringing and seems like he has really grown up since the TJ drama that is now in the rear view mirror. Best of luck to him.

Gave a really classy answer when he really didn't have to. There's a lot he could've said about TJ and stuff he's done, yet he chose not to bring any of it up and only described events without assigning any blame. I’m a tj fan, always have been. I feel for Cody being young and a champ, Urijah let his emotions control him and he pushed Cody into being his emotional savior meaning “Cody will whoop tj” for me. That made Cody a little more emotional. He almost won first fight but got finished, that was too much mentally and he’s not been back ever since. We’ve all been there where we went overboard in arguments and were too prideful to admit our wrongs, Cody and tj did that for years. Glad to see them changing that.
