I was born in Utah, just another Yankee state, but ever since i been to a cowboy fest at antelope island ten years ago, i don't really dress like a Yankee and i understand this song well. It's a tribute to blue-collar men. I've never worked on a farm, but I'm good at doing blue collar work. Such as swinging an axe over tree branches and heavy lifting as well as raking a grass.
@ian9574 Жыл бұрын
... you guys do realize the south lost, and that "Yankee" refers to all of the UNITED States? It's Memorial Day weekend when we honor those who fell fighting for FREEDOM. For EVERY man, woman, and child.
@yeahman1975 Жыл бұрын
@@ian9574 hi Ian I took him to use Yankee as a loose term not in the traditional sense and I responded as such I feel certain tag words are banned or frowned upon so he used a different word to not be immediately banned. I think there are a set of country values that mean alot to alot of people from many different races. Currently the values that are being frowned upon by the masses. I think he was able to relate to this song and found a connection and acceptance to his core. That's how I took it and so I wanted to respond to that. The loss of so many lives should be remembered and respected 💯. I hope you have a great day and find connection to this song too as it unites so many. No archaic undertones meant in the message.

@@ian9574 the only people who think Yankee refers to all Americans are foreigners. In the US, Yankee is used to describe northerners. Trying to tie it into the Civil War and the South losing is irrelevant.

@Austin Huff In common talk, you're correct. Hate to break it to everyone, but there are southern racists who still use "Yank" or "Yankee" to refer to the rest of us who weren't born with our head up our ass and our dick in our sister.
