I grew up In Pendleton Oregon, home of the Pendleton Round up. Attended it each year, cheered all the riders on, got into the whole atmosphere of the Rodeo, the Round up, the fair and the small town that no matter how far you move to leave, it's just some how still there. I've lived in Texas for 25 years now. Seen their rodeo's and their fairs and while they're great they aren't Pendleton, or the Round up. So this song does hit home and it's nice to see it actually talking about what we all love with Rodeo. So from this girl from Pendleton I say great job! and as we pendleton say so much LET ER BUCK!

The best part about this story is that Reba was the one who reached out to CoJo about doing this song with him, as she herself used to participate in the great sport of Rodeo. This is what country music is, and will always be. Cody Johnson is doing his best to keep Traditional Country music alive with every performance that he puts on and it is what is helping his career. Playing each night like it is his last. It is nice to not hear a song that sounds like shit about partying, getting girls, or 4WD pick up trucks. Great song, Great music video, Great story.

He took his stage show and presence from Chris LeDoux and it’s a well known fact. The closest Reba ever really got to pro rodeo, was her first husband was a PRCA steer wrestler. But regardless, there are tons of musicians who’s rodeo songs directly depict their life. But the ones that live it, don’t get the recognition.

Rodeo is it's own family. Most times we only see each other once a year. And that's because we all have different lives. But there is always the love and respect that never fades.
