Cody has been in the game since birth on some level. Yes he chose to be a part of it, but the business was a part of his entire life. He has more knowledge in his little pinky, (sorry for the old adage) than ten year talents have in their entire bodies. Cody gets it and wanted to bring that to the fans. It's not his fault TK and the other lame EVPS couldn't understand it. He gets it now and he went to a place where they get it also. Period.

The nuances and real throwbacks he showed with Seth during their match. True respect to the game, and also real love for it too. The Pedigree. The Stardust flip and showboat. The Goldust punch. It all makes sense now, Cody's right it's about the timing, not only was it a perfect time for Cody to jump ship and not burn no bridges, it also benefited WWE (after triple H's health scare) to bring in a seasoned vet, who's family is bonded to the business through generations, and who just so happened to be running the day to day operations for the 2nd most popular sports entertainment company behind the wwe, and even though Cody wants to stay on the wrestling side of the business and not the front office you know wwe gonna wanna pick the brain of the man that went from employee to the biggest competition the company has since wcw. having this style of media scrum for WWE is very unusual, because WWE doesn't present itself as a sporting product and a lot of things this style of media would cover would be out of character stuff, which WWE is very careful to control. AEW does it all the time because, like New Japan, they present themselves as a more sports-style product, and are a little bit more loose with kayfabe and character work because, after all, we all know what pro wrestling is so there's no need to keep up the pretence too much.

I never knew he was an HHH guy given all the smack and skits he did like destroying the throne and stuff like that. It's awesome to hear that he thinks highly of him in real life! On another note Cody going to WWE is an incredibly MASSIVE shift in the tides.. Vince did it again man. I thought the momentum was going in AEW's favor permanently when they got BOTH Danielson and CM Punk, but this, this hits different. It made AEW (and don't bash me I love their product too) look like a stepping stone (as much as they want to BE the competition) for the big leagues aka WWE. That pop was legendary and many wrestlers can only dream of moments like those. Whether AEW can produce something that magical (CM Punk's return was also huge but it was in a smaller arena) remains to be seen. Cody's a completely different man promo wise and aura wise compared to his last run. He's got that main event feel that makes me want to tune into WWE again and see if he'll be the man to take RR down and if WWE would even let that happen. Overall, exciting things happening!

Duno why so many ppl talk trash about Cody Rhodes, I never watched his AEW stuff but i was a fan when he first entered WWE but then i got dissapointed when WWE trashed his rise along with the other 2nd generation wrestlers except Randy Orton. These 2nd generation stars were so athletic n had so much promise n potential but they just needed time n experience but WWE had no time to give since they had so much Stars at the time. The Fact Someone like Dusty Rhodes never got to be Champion was ridiculous, it was always Hogan or Ultimate Warrior or Ric Flair and thats what happened with Triple H, John cena always winnin the title n now its brock n Roman reigns. They need to 🛑 depending on acouple old guys n allow new ppl to rise. Cody Rhodes accomplished so much leaving WWE, look at AEW n how big its become? He could honestly take over the job of Triple H while wrestling too n make WWE even more successful but sadly Nick Khan has that spot n thats probs y triple H left after losing so much power n influence of leading the company under Vince. Every interview you see Cody Rhodes in when its just himself n no one else with him u can see his real side. His genuine side n often u can relate to some times how he talks n thinks cuz inside hes still like a kid at heart like alot of guys sometimes are n it shows alot on camera when he has those fanboy moments or hes gettin emotional about some topics or some moments he is bein serious tellin a story n then the crowd laughs like its a joke n hes got this straight face like hes contemplating what made it funny lol only to realize it n u see this in his facial expressions. Hes pretty real n if ppl cant see that then i am shocked. Even more shockin is ppl thinkin Cody doesnt deserve the push or to say he is not that talented?? I have been a WWF fan from since i was 2 years old in 1988 when my grandfathef would always watch even though he didnt know english and i stopped watching after the wrestlemania Rock Vs cena 2, though i watch wrestlemania every year still. I have followed the rise of so many during that time n ones who didnt get pushed but joined other promotions n become successful only to come back to WWF/WWE. I can definitely say without a Doubt Cody Rhodes deserves the hype/push, hes really talented n amazin Athleticism, amazin mic skills, he has the looks of a superstar as well as his style speaks volumes of a company leader.

Bret saw Cody Rhodes coming almost before Cody saw Cody Rhodes coming. I recall a few interviews where Bret named Cody as one of his favorites long before he left WWE. I remember thinking, hmm. Now, I see it.
