Cody has been in the game since birth on some level. Yes he chose to be a part of it, but the business was a part of his entire life. He has more knowledge in his little pinky, (sorry for the old adage) than ten year talents have in their entire bodies. Cody gets it and wanted to bring that to the fans. It's not his fault TK and the other lame EVPS couldn't understand it. He gets it now and he went to a place where they get it also. Period.

The nuances and real throwbacks he showed with Seth during their match. True respect to the game, and also real love for it too. The Pedigree. The Stardust flip and showboat. The Goldust punch. The American Dream Bionic Jabs and Elbow. The selling reminiscent of both Dashing and Un-Dashing. The wrestling of Wrestlemania.

Was that really a legitimate factor in him leaving AEW though? It's professional wrestling, they could have easily came up with something to allow him to compete for the AEW title. Look how many "loser leaves town" and retirement stipulations that they've went back on over the years.

I'm very glad that WWE allowed him to be himself They knew they couldn't reinvent the American Nightmare, same with how they couldn't reinvent AJ Styles as the Phenomenal One I love when WWE knows they cannot try reinventing a wrestler who is already built from the ground up without WWE

Well not only that I think that they wouldn't be able to reinvent them. It's just not smart to do so. AJ and Cody probably negociated to being able to cary on their Gimmick and just seeing the Merch sales that Styles got, they probably saw that they don't need to repackage him for him to become a Star. It all makes sense now, Cody's right it's about the timing, not only was it a perfect time for Cody to jump ship and not burn no bridges, it also benefited WWE (after triple H's health scare) to bring in a seasoned vet, who's family is bonded to the business through generations, and who just so happened to be running the day to day operations for the 2nd most popular sports entertainment company behind the wwe, and even though Cody wants to stay on the wrestling side of the business and not the front office you know wwe gonna wanna pick the brain of the man that went from employee to the biggest competition the company has since wcw. This was a win win all around, with all the doors left open for Cody, very smart move..

having this style of media scrum for WWE is very unusual, because WWE doesn't present itself as a sporting product and a lot of things this style of media would cover would be out of character stuff, which WWE is very careful to control. AEW does it all the time because, like New Japan, they present themselves as a more sports-style product, and are a little bit more loose with kayfabe and character work because, after all, we all know what pro wrestling is so there's no need to keep up the pretence too much.

I never knew he was an HHH guy given all the smack and skits he did like destroying the throne and stuff like that. It's awesome to hear that he thinks highly of him in real life! On another note Cody going to WWE is an incredibly MASSIVE shift in the tides.. Vince did it again man. I thought the momentum was going in AEW's favor permanently when they got BOTH Danielson and CM Punk, but this, this hits different. It made AEW (and don't bash me I love their product too) look like a stepping stone (as much as they want to BE the competition) for the big leagues aka WWE. That pop was legendary and many wrestlers can only dream of moments like those. Whether AEW can produce something that magical (CM Punk's return was also huge but it was in a smaller arena) remains to be seen. Cody's a completely different man promo wise and aura wise compared to his last run. He's got that main event feel that makes me want to tune into WWE again and see if he'll be the man to take RR down and if WWE would even let that happen. Overall, exciting things happening!

as much as i love WWE and AEW Cody Rhodes might be the biggest jump from one company to another company (in modern day) i wanna see more people jump back and forth between both companies i think Cody is a Triple H guy because Trips helped Dusty get a job and i think Cody respects Trips for that.

I don’t get how people get upset with wrestlers going elsewhere. How else are we going to get to those dream matches we all want. Now we get to see things like Cody vs Seth, Cody vs styles, cody vs Balor. I know one my dream matches is Seth vs Kenny, but only way that will ever happen is if one of them switches companies

@@shopaccount8909 and honestly I wouldn’t mind seeing Seth in AEW. I’m not saying I want him gone from wwe, but I can’t say I don’t wanna see him vs Darby, omega, punk, and finally have a feud with Danielson. Its definitely upsetting when someone leaves cause you never know if you’ll see certain matches again, but it opens up so many more

Kenny and Seth actually have had a match in roh. The one I saw was a triple threat with American dragon but they could have had singles. Agree though Kenny is probably my favourite aew wrestler and even though I don't watch wwe anymore Seth has been my favourite wwe guy since before the sheild brake up. Would be 5 stars for sure.

I'm really happy for him. I think his character (as he is now) is a better fit for WWE than AEW, and tho I'm not a WWE fan (nor an AEW fan for that matter), I think his ideas will be more welcomed both by WWE's creative and WWE fans. WWE is often demonized (most of the times for good reason), but it's true that some (few) people really thrive there. I think Cody could be one of the few wrestlers that thrive in that company. And the relationship with the AEW fandom was broken beyond repair, so there was nothing Cody could do there that would make him and the fans happy. This move might still fail, but there's a big chance that it will work, so good for him.

In all seriousness just how damn well has Cody done, when you have dusty as a dad and Dustin (gold dust) who down so much in wwe and you kind of fail in your first run you so easily could just be like nah stuff this . He goes makes himself big in indies and started making indies as big as they are now (with others too) then starts another company builds it up and then when he could just sit and think I done good he comes back to wwe and does what he’s doing to this day . I do think he will be the man who takes the title from Roman and honestly he deserves all the credit in the world , dusty must be up there smiling from ear to ear

Cody really is a polarizing right now he started something that fans wanted for years in Aew and then he becomes the first to make that Aew to wwe transition showing it’s a possibility. It’s a good thing for them to go to the other and show out their it’s refreshing.
