Stardust had so much potential, but then sadly WWE creatives dropped the ball... just as they do always. Cody completely got screwed. He never even got to win any titles during all that time. Never got the push he deserved. The guy clearly has the mic skills and can wrestle, but because he's not super-muscly-steroidy-looking, Vince wanted him to just be a mid-carder or jobber.

yeah they gave him a suicide role but he made it work. at first the look was kinda iffy but when you saw how cody used the persona and act out like you've never seen him do it was amazing it's like watching a different person the voice the laugh even the shenanigans he do in ring was good my only concern was they didn't invest on him more they could've gotten a good story with him and i kinda made a fanart of him with a silver cape and black with galaxy inspired motif on the inside part of the cape i took the design based from spider gwen's hood it's all plain outside and the inside of her hood was the classic spiderman theme.

I’m really happy with how kind he is towards WWE even with all the BS they put him through in the end. He really could’ve taken the CM Punk route with trashing them for what they did to him, but he kept it professional and it ended up being what was best for both sides. Class act, Cody Rhodes. The part where he talks about having facepaint or a mask makes you feel different, I can relate too... by no means am I a professional wrestler, but over the last 10 years, I have done this "backyard wrestling" federation with my friends and whenever I would play a character with a mask on... it just feels different.

Never felt it was the right character for Cody Rhodes right from the beginning. He had the potential to be a World Champion, and how many top wrestlers have drastically changed their gimmicks so much? He was Cody Rhodes, son of the Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. You dont need such characters for 2nd Generation Superstars. Especially, the way they handled Goldust for the most of part of his career, Stardust was never going to be a success.

Its even more impressive to know Cody didn’t like the stardust gimmick because he was fuckin nailing it, I actually like the character and due to the energy her put into it, Stardust didn’t seem like a gold dust knock off to me at all. As a good actor you need to take any role and make it your own thats what makes you an amazing actor. A truly great actor can find a way to make any gimmick work, you shouldn’t complain about it, you should use it as a creative challenge.

But, he made it work. It was successful to a degree. It brought new eyes on the WWE product. Because Cody Rhodes and Stephen Armell (Arrow) had a summer feud together and a wrestling match. It doesn't happen often that WWE has a celebrity come work with the company in a capacity like that. WWE returned the favor by letting Cody (as Stardust) be in an episode of the WB hit series Arrow. So successful in that regard. WWE is kinda a wh@re when it comes to mainstream exposure as well.

People can say the Miz brought the IC title back to prominence, and although when he has the belt it becomes prestigious again (no reason for Rollins to have it as of today being wrapped up in the shield tag team thing), Cody was responsible for bring the IC title back to relevance.
