That voice gives me flashbacks to the first Spider-Man game on the ps2.

He's hitler. He repeated hitler lines repeatedly. You'll see in the next 4 or so years.

Just for show and controversy. It worked for a long time. Buffoonery, not racism. Did you see the presidential campaigns of 2016, 2020 and 2024? We are a nation of low thinkers. Buffoonery appeals to Americans.

He was in character for his movie "Rubin and Ed". I was a bit that apparently David Letterman didn't get the memo. Surprised, typically David would go along with this. But if you watch the movie "Rubin and Ed" it's the same character from Letterman, same shoes, same hair, same shirt and he kicks a lot with weird shoes on.

Indie films in this genre are way more interesting and better than your regular "popcorn" films. However, I gotta say that this film was screechingly bad. Way too overly-emotional, and lingering on scenes that weren't interesting. The pacing was cringey-galore. We need more great indie flicks, but this aint it. Sorry.

The implication that the comparison was borderline racist was very ignorant. Where is the racism? Wasn't it enough to say it's 2 different positions.

This is a hot take, but this is the first Sean Baker film that kinda lost me. And I liked the movie. But this is the movie, where the same thing happened as with Wes Anderson, where you go "Oh, it's just another Sean Baker movie"... He's repeating himself, and Anora reminded me a lot of Red Rocket, but just way less entertaining and funny. These movies always achieve awards buzz, but I would love to see this guy make a movie that surprised me from him. He's just so one note, that Anora was just a bit predictable for me. There were no surprises, because I've seen this type of Sean Baker film every time he's made a film.
