I went to high school with a girl that was on this show. She filed a lawsuit against them. Apparently the contestants were completely lied to about what this show was going to be about. Supposedly they were told it was just a modeling competition. I believe she wound up winning a settlement out of court. They never actually aired her scenes because she file the lawsuit when she was notified that show was actually going to air.

@Death Omen these differences in beauty perception are not entirely arbitrary, however. Having more fat was seen as attractive in the past because it was a sign of luxury, abundance, and wealth. It meant you could afford to indulge, whereas if you were skinny (as most were) you could not afford enough food. In richer areas of the world, tans and darker complexions are generally attractive because they're a sign that you can afford to take time off from the prohibitive 9-5 indoors at a desk job or in a grocery store/fast food spot to spend time outside, whereas in poorer areas of the world as in most of history, lighter skin is more attractive as it means you can take time off from the agricultural duties necessary to survive. I could go on

@Death Omen This isn't really your main point, but I just want to say that to my understanding, corsets were used for the same reason we use bras today. A good corset shouldn't be uncomfortable, similar to how a good bra should also make you feel good and provide support.

I hate how they called the judges “experts”. Like there are no experts in attraction, everybody has their own type. It’s not something you can “score” like a test. Attraction is about chemistry, not numbers.

Eh you kinda can rate attractiveness

@@Mmmhhh1 u absolutely can't. attractiveness is so subjection. there can be a more of a majority opinion yes but it's impossible to get accurate numbers.

These judges' logic: "Your chest is too big" "Your chest is too small" "You're too skinny" "Too muscular" "Eyes are too wide set" "Eyes are too close set" "Too tall" "Too short" "You should be thick here but not there" I hate our society

Lol you hate our society??? Our society is literally the exact opposite of how it is in the video, the good and the bad are being glorified.
@lowlowseesee3 жыл бұрын
so toxic lol. I would rather they just all compliment everyone lol
@imsotox3 жыл бұрын
@@lowlowseesee right idek how they call themselves experts when everyone has their own personal preferences. And experts don’t give completely different scores either if they know what they’re looking for. This was all just a bad act.

Several contestants sued. They were not told what this was, but that it was a modeling competition.

You guys MUST watch playing it straight, it’s basically the bachelorette except some men are gay and some are straight. Each week she goes on dates and at the end of each week she eliminates the men she thinks are gay. It’s so bad but so funny

another insane show was Superstar USA where they did it exactly like american idol, but they voted on who the worst singer was, they had the whole audiance in on it, and everyone acted like these contestants where the absolute best singers. it was weird watching a bunch of tone deaf people get gassed up and told they are the best
@elizabethwallace87143 жыл бұрын
Lol I'm glad somebody said this! That show is insane...I found it on some list of the most messed-up reality TV shows and ended up watching hours of it that night. It's the perfect level of cringe for Cody and Kelsey to watch.

The judges are straight up calling the people fat or ugly and the contestants just go “ok thanks” and nod
@itb42553 жыл бұрын
They'd look pretty childish if they got angry at being judged on a show specifically meant to judge them. The contestants knew what was gonna happen lmao
@GoScience1233 жыл бұрын
Yea tbf they chose to be on a show literally called "Hot or Not". In a weird way this show's probably the most honest about its intentions. I can't imagine that these contestants haven't done the same thing that these judges are doing picking apart average peoples looks because otherwise they probably wouldn't have found themselves attractive enough to be on the show.
@totalwartimelapses63593 жыл бұрын
I'm a very insecure person but if I went on a show like that, I'd have no right in complaining if they judged me honestly and bluntly Like you can't for example post a picture of yourself asking for opinions and then get shocked if someone gave a negative opinion
