Thanks for your clear explanation! It is not clear to me however why there is no deviation on a Easterly or Westerly heading. Shouldn't the compass needle want to turn 180° towards the blue pole of the deck beam? at 04:26

There is no deviation when the disturbing poles are in meridian. On 0900 heading the poles of beam will lie in meridian.

Thanks For your explanation Sir. I m not able to understand one thing from the video which is (at 03.16 mins ) blue pole changed from Starboard to Port side?? On Easterly courses blue poles are on starboard and on Westerly courses blue poles are on Port side? Thanks in advance.

These poles are due to induced magnetism on soft iron. The Earth's field travels from South to North and thus, on the easterly heading the first strike point on the beam becomes a blue pole.
