Yo, I’m so stoked that you did that one, it’s crazy isn’t it? Bona adds so much to this funky, dancy little tune. He’s a beast. Comes from a musical family and grew up in Africa, steeped in music. He’s a multi-instrumentalist, and man, reading his wiki is like: where do I come up for air!?! Jaco Pistorius was key to him starting the bass as a youngster. This man has played and toured with absolutely every top-tier musician and band on this planet, from Harry Belafonte to Bobby McFerrin, Lee Ritenour, Bill Evans, Marsalis, Victor Wooten, the Pat Metheny Group…the list goes on. Released many albums, amongst them at least one under the Quincy label, and owned a jazz club in NY. His model bass? No idea, but I’m sure one could find out. Yeah, it does sound beautiful… This track was written by Jonah as part of his solo album “Now or Never”, a longtime project of his. There might’ve been a ‘creative hiatus’ with the rest of the Dirty Loops guys, COVID might’ve interfered with all of their plans, not sure, but afterwards they got together again and released their second album Phoenix together. So then the coffee break was over 😉 But yeah, as you said, there isn’t really anything Jonah couldn’t do if he went solo altogether (and yeah he plays the drums as well). Listen to some of the other tracks on this album. “Independent Girl” is a collab with Jacob Collier, and the absolute pinnacle of craziness. His cover of “Bad”, shot entirely on an iPhone, takes the cream, for me though. It’s bad all the way through 🔥🔥🔥 Jordan Rudess (Dream Theatre), Anomalie and Justin Lee Schultz make short guest appearances ;) Thanks again for listening to this track with us, Ikechi, it made my day ☺️🙏👍

Forgot to add that, as much as I love and admire what Jonah does, with Dirty Loops everything goes up an extra notch, for me. Those three guys are the best combination ever! 🔥🔥🔥

Jonah Nilsson did a slamming solo cover of MJ:s "BAD" I think you would really enjoy! BTW the song "Coffee Break Is Over" was an in-joke. When Henrik and Aron began posting songs under the project name "Songs For Lovers" with just the two of them, people were asking in the comments where Jonah was. Someone cleverly posted the reply "He's on a coffee break" referring to this solo project. In response, Henrik and Aron brought Jonah in for a session on their side project and created "Coffee Break Is Over."
