These are very beautiful, and finally a tutorial that uses filters I don't have to order online. Thank you very much, I'm definitely going to make these, as I have a dark corner in my living room that real plants don't thrive in. Making a fake plant using this tutorial might just be the solution. 🖤

Loved the video! Can't wait to make some of my own. Just one question, once you up a sheen on the leaves. does that seal them if they get wet or would the color run?
@craftedstudioco2 жыл бұрын
It will protect them to a degree. They cant get over-saturated as they would start to get a bit tacky eventually.. but yes it will help from colour fade and colour bleed overall :)

Hello dear, You are very talented and make such beautiful flowers!! 😍 I have some questions. You may have said it or answered them before and in that case I apologize. 1. Do you only have to use gel food colors? Or can I use something else? Maby acrylic paint or similar? I have no opportunity to get food colors today, but acrylic paint I can buy. The food colors I have to order, and I can not wait 😂😂😂 2. Do you have any experience if the leaves and flowers resist a bit rain? It would be fun to have these flowers on the terrace. Or maybe they break then? Thanks in advance and have a nice day! Hugs from Ida 🤗

Beautiful, smart idea! I just have one question. How long will the color last until it fade away?
@craftedstudioco3 жыл бұрын
The "glossy coat" that finishes them should seal in your color. Or you can use a spray varnish. Direct, prolong exposure to sunlight will fade them (or any product with color really)...otherwise the colors should last as long as you are doing a final seal coat 🥰
@forevercreating2 жыл бұрын
I would love to know if these faded in a year? as my colored fondant flowers did with this food colorant. The colors were almost completely gone. I would love to know if fading occurs on coffee filters. Thank you.
@craftedstudioco2 жыл бұрын
These did not fade much at all because I spray sealed them after and keep them out of direct sunlight. Try using this tip from a video demo I did.. it will help! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpScdaeiZa50gpI

@@craftedstudioco Thank you so very much. And for teaching me how too.
@craftedstudioco2 жыл бұрын
I hope you find it helpful! Fondant eventually always fades the colouring because of moisture changes and the sugars exposure to air and light. Some colours will be worse than others. There are edible sealants you can purchase as well for sugar art but its not always guaranteed to preserve colour. Paper , on the other hand.. there are more tried and true tips and tricks for sure!! 😉
@GrumpetteJV2 жыл бұрын
If you use light fast watercolours or acrylics, or even markers, they won't fade. But I would always spray them with a good uv resistant varnish, especially if you put in lots of effort and you are pleased with your results. 🖤

Can we use laboratory filter papers instead of coffee filters? would it be the same?
@craftedstudioco2 жыл бұрын
Im so sorry, but I dont know what that type of paper is. But I cant see why you cant try it out with any type of paper and see what you come up with 💕
@GrumpetteJV2 жыл бұрын
You can, but the texture will be different. The cone filters's texture looks a bit more natural. I have both and my lab filters have a dotted pattern, while the cone filters are more veiny looking.
@debjudisch55483 жыл бұрын
I have seen other flowers made with filters dried in the oven. Is there a reason you do not?
@craftedstudioco3 жыл бұрын
This is something you can do. Its not needed but does speed up the dry time after colouring the paper. This being said, it can change the texture of the paper and bakes crinkles into it. I find it affects the colour as well. I prefer to lay my filters flat to dry, Feel free to take a look at my paper flower playlist, I have a couple videos on colouring the filters and talk a little about how to control the colour and texture
