В молодости (много лет назад), краску для волос было не купить. Пользовались хной и басмой. Басму применяли те, у кого темные и черные волосы, а для остальных цветов ( в основном был каштановый разных оттенков) применялась обычная хна порошок + кофе растворимый, или хна + басма + кофе, разводили горячим заваренным и процеженным черным чаем, или просто кипятком, все пропорции на глаз, главное , чтобы кашица получилась, и не стекала с волос. Волосы утепляли, и ходили ,делали свои дела , не глядя на время. Некоторые оставляли на всю ночь. Результат был всегда потрясающий : волосы хорошо были прокрашены, здоровые, блестящие , с красивым оттенком и надолго.

Yes. I used to henna my hair starting in my late 20s to cover greys. I would mix henna with black tea and about a teaspoon of lemon juice until it was as thick as this, put it on my hair, and leave it for 6-8 hours (be careful because henna can stain a lot of things). When I rinsed it out, my greys turned a brilliant copper color which was permanent and also my hair was thicker and healthier in general. But the downside is that if you ever decide you don't want coppery hair, it's hard to change and a hair salon messed my hair up pretty bad trying to color correct the henna by toning my hair over and over again. I do highly recommend using henna on hair though if you're okay with coppery red color and I agree that salons should offer henna, indigo, and coffee coloring to clients.
