You filmed and edited the video so well. I'm impressed with how much time you were able to take and, of course, the post-production. Your videos, technically and no less in terms of content, are premium on KZbin! Thanks so much!

Thanks :) Editing videos is tough for me, especially as I don't plan the video out and I waffle waaaay too much, the videos are usually 50% longer than they are when I post them. Then I watch them over and chop out so much waffle. In this video I rambled on for a good 5 minutes about lockdown and what has happened over the last 6 months.

Great video. It seems that you appreciate the little things in life. It's so cool that you made the stove and tarp yourself too. I love seeing Baxter in your videos. He's such a nice dog.
@GadgetViper4 жыл бұрын
That tarp is my pride and joy, it's made from the lightest material I could find, which made it much more tricky to stitch, it's also a cat-cut design (curved edges) It came out so well but took such a long time. It was totally worth it though. I might do a giveaway of some alcohol stoves in the future, just trying to locate more of those squeezy bottles, I do like it when things nest together perfectly.

Haha! Glad you like it, my script (in my head) was to spend most of the day in the woods, I expected rain and was really looking forward to sheltering under the tarp with Bax and just enjoying the solitude. The phone call was actually a blessing, as it gave me a few extra hours to get started on the editing, I also had waaaay less footage, so it wasn't as painful to get the video done :)

@@GadgetViper Mate, so for ground coffee on nanopresso, is it better to have a bit coarse ( a little bit rough right the meaning of coarse? ) or to have it fine? and when you have espresso is it right to mix it with milk or half and half? I like espresso but man it's too short or small volume, very tiny. I'm coming from kcup guy
@GadgetViper3 жыл бұрын
@@jliverty if you've got a high end espresso machine, the grind is pretty fine, but that chokes up in the Nano, so you need to grind it a little less fine until it flows well. The pre-ground Lavazza Espresso pulls well through it, if you need to gauge the grind setting. I make my Espresso into a black Americano by topping up the double shot with boiling water. So, 16g of coffee in the basket, 55g of pulled shot (this will be the small water container maxed out) then I'll add about 200 - 250g of water. So the final weight is around 300g. I don't drink coffee with milk, unless I'm having a latte or Cappuccino, then you'd need to heat and froth the milk which is a ball ache on the trail.
@jliverty3 жыл бұрын
@@GadgetViper True, that's really pain in the butt having milk on the go and have to froth it lol, anyway thanks for the tips! I'll get the lavazza pre ground next time.

Had been wondering if and when you might be gracing us with another dose of coffee lore and personal, Baxterian authenticity. ;-) Great to see you're back. Still haven't pulled the trigger on the Nanopresso. Loving the Staresso (sans glass and glass holder) or the AeroPress (non-Go) for my outings. Thanks to you for turning me onto that! :-) But eagerly awaiting my Coffee Jack. Hope it materializes by year's end. Definitely a promising thing. Also loving my CrushGrind. Always look forward to your content, also because your use case matches mine perfectly. James Hoffmann is coolio, but most of the gear he reviews is overkill for me. EDIT: That collapsible stool is super cool! :-)
@GadgetViper4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Scott, I'm going to try and get my hands on the new Staresso if I can, that would make cool video. That Coffee Jack has raised over £1.3 million on Indiegogo, that's crazy! Let's hope it lives up to the hype
@scottbecker34854 жыл бұрын
@@GadgetViper New Staresso? Thanks - wasn't aware of it. (10 minutes later...) Just checked it out. Called the "Staresso Mini". Looks almost identical to the original, except for an extendable sleeve and non-glass cup better (and lighter) for travelling. But that applies only if one takes the cup (and cup holder sleeve) along, at all. If not in order to save weight and bulk, then one can just use the original Staresso and pump into one's own camping mug or whatever. That makes a lot more sense esp. if you want to make an Americano, thus needing to add water anyhow. So I don't see the point of getting the new Staresso unless they maybe improved the pump, itself. As for Coffee Jack: Yeah, that thing really took off. And from what I gather, they have engineered it to perfection, even using the "Corona slowdown" to improve its features even far beyond the original specs. This has had a negative impact on shipping, of course, but I am entirely confident they will get the thing out the door by December. If so, my Staresso will probably be retired.

Are you still using your BARSETTO ? By the way, you are really chill. I will be upset (picking up everything for finally nothing) lol
@GadgetViper4 жыл бұрын
I haven't used the Barsetto for a while, I'm a double shot guy, so I mostly use the Nanopresso. As for being chilled out, it's true, even when I'm angry over something, I can totally move past in matter of moments. I've been practicing mindfulness meditation for over 5 years now, it's rewired my brain. Now when there is a situation, instead of being angry, I just observe the anger, like I'm separated from it. It's difficult to explain, but it's almost a pleasurable experience.
@younsmal48734 жыл бұрын
@@GadgetViper Bought the Barsetto because of you (love the glass system) but shame there is not a way to double shot with. Also bought the coffee grinder because of you and I have no regret about it. Might try the meditation thing then. Lol
@GadgetViper4 жыл бұрын
@@younsmal4873 you should, it has been a game changer for me. I dont often do the typical seated mediation these days, I do a walking mediation, I'll just try and keep focus on the pressure of the ground on my feat as I walk, it's as simple as that. Holding concentration is tough at first, but after practice it does get easier. If you can walk for 30 minutes a day and stay present, after a few weeks you'll notice the difference, good luck :)

@GadgetViper3 жыл бұрын
Hi, before you adjust the grind size from what works with the single basket, try to reduce the volume (weight) a little in the basket of the doubleshot, if there is too much it will cause this. It should be around 4-5mm down from the top of the basket after you've given it a light tamp. If it still hardly comes out, with a little less weight, then try 1 click of adjustment
