Thanks for the video. I have been doing them quite a while ago too. I did it in porcelain. I did however put a line pattern on the inside of the filter-holder as this would prevent the filter paper from sticking to the wall and make the coffee run a little easier. We do have these in Germany, but put on top of our coffee pot. Our aunty used to have two coffee pots and while the guests were having one cup each from the first pot, the next lot of coffee would filter into the next pot. Memories from childhood.

Hi!!! Thank you for sharing this. I would like to know what kind of glase do you use for your pieces, and also how many time do you fire your pieces. Again thank you so much.

Thanks for watching. I used a cone 10 glaze developed at Higher Fire Clayspace & Gallery in San Jose. I fire them 2 times - once for bisque &then the final glaze one.

Do you fire the mug and pour over stacked together in the kiln for shrinkage alignment or would it be too heavy?
@jamiemeador2967
@jamiemeador2967 4 жыл бұрын
No, I fire them apart. I like the rim of my cup to be glazed.

Hi Jamie...nice tutorial. Curious how thick you like the slab? Thank you

Try for a true 1/4. Slab rollers are not so accurate sometimes.

did u find the one whole or three whole version to be a better pour over?
@jamiemeador2967
@jamiemeador2967 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on how quickly you want your coffee. The consensus at my studio was for 1 hole - longer time for the water to be with the coffee.

@jamiemeador2967
@jamiemeador2967 6 жыл бұрын
tree cerdas I'm not sure I understand the question. I air dry and leave the plaster molds in to retain shape. When it's firmed up I remove them...cover with plastic for slower drying time
