I enjoyed this a lot. Solid points, well articulated! Especially the points on targeted farming. I personally dislike every movement skill scaling with cast or attack speed. It's extra mobility for the builds that need either of those to scale damage and screws over everyone who doesn't, like totem builds, wanders, trappers or attack builds that go for big hits like EQ. Make them only scale with movespeed and increase that scaling imo. Although I guess that would make them worse if you wanted to use them offensively.

so glad to see the show return! i'd like to toss in i agree with nugi. I'm fairy new to poe. [have quit and come back a few times] my main is lvl 90 duelist /sunder. The biggest problem I'm having is the xp penalty when dieing. So when I'm mapping A HIGH TIER MAP, if I see something dangerous, i'll just skip over it..... not that i want to. or even enjoy doing so. but the death penalty isnt worth the reward. I will however run the dangerous things when running low tier maps with no issue. tldr: skip-able shit is good.

I can see the safe bet for the special mod being to straight up regal it first then multimod. That is an easy way to create a decent item.

@nugiyen My personal take on patch notes and why we don't see them earlier is this. If you give them earlier than the final cutoff and then find the need to change something, specifically a number that needs reducing, you start generating nerf rage before the league even gets a chance to start. i don't think any developer wants to be generating negative press before anyone even gets to experience their product.

The normal skill gems don't give you Vaal skills. Vaal gems now give you both Vaal skills and normal skills. Vaal side areas should still serve the purpose of dispensing frags and gems.

I dont think tensent will change too much regarding the game - but for people you cannot spend that much money - i think ziggy is completely off on this one - for him poe is a job - he is willing to sacrifice more money, i dont think you would spend so much money if you has no job related ties to the game. If you hear that a big company is buying the game + staff you might hold back because all people i played with ever would rather support an indie studio than a company they know have millions So i really think ziggy should use his influence to make sure for his fellow gamers, that GGG makes clear how important supporter packs are still for them

GGG will continue to make money regardless if people feel they are supporting the company or not as long as quality of life purchase still exist like stash tabs, currency tabs etc. If a few cosmetic changes to skills etc pop up ill probably still purchase them anyway. Future is extremely bright i feel bring on new exiles for 4.0 please

Everyone that is speculating on what Chris gets to and doesn't get to do, and what powers Tencent has or not ... That's not necessarily how these contracts work. We know nothing about the contracts Chris signed, we don't know what operational control Tencent has over the company. We are speculating and just running around like headless chickens making doomsday predictions.

more likely tencent has complete control over the china servers, version of the game and players. For the rest of the world i doubt tencent cares too much so it prob default to Chris. Expect more promotional races with china soon

I doubt Tencent has creative control of anything. At least, I don't think they have complete creative control of anything. It wouldn't make sense. Tencent isn't a game developer, they're an investment conglomerate.

Tencent is the games publisher for POE in China, that means they provide the servers, handles the PR, advertising and customers in China. Get POE micro transactions and forum groups to work with their QQ/wechat messaging clients. Most likely QR codes to allow purchase of micro transactions from QQ/wechat clients (think paypal). For all that they prob get a huge share of profits from the Chinese market But Chris doesn't care, because without Tencent the Chinese market would be very hard and expensive to break into. And GGG would of course be getting all the support and investment Tencent has access to including a lot of companies Tencent invested in (at least on the experience share level) Overall it's a win win situation. Tencent get's huge profits from the chinese market and GGG get's easy access for POE into the chinese market as well as money to invest into improving the game on an international level

If you played league you would understand that more and more players (including big streamers which is their source of income) are quitting because of how stale and boring the game has become since it was shaped around competitive and cosmetics. They've taken no regard for the larger portion of the community and pay attention to what makes the most money. So when you say i have a tiny mind, try playing the game for 6 years then having an opinion.

I know and I get their point but it still somehow feels bad. If you allow them to be used regularly, it makes other skills obsolete. But if you don't you significantly limit their fun factor to almost being an afterthought for most cases. It's a tough job for sure.

As for looking at Tencent, the reason I see for peoples scepticism is because there is one gaming company over here that seems to behave in a similar manner. EA's track record is decidedly less then stellar... milking multiple major studios of every drop they can before they toss them aside.

but they work completly different. EA buys big studios and forces them to release a game a year, completly milking them. Tencent on the other hand doesnt really care about the international market and is only interested in the chinese. They buy so much to invest in a long term.
