Just add a hood to the new jacket and perfect. Even if it zipped on or snapped on with the mouton inside the the hood. Wool lining in the sleeves or mouton in the sleeves. $1500 easily. Your fans will buy it. Keep it 24oz

You asked about the James Brand Duvall. I'd avoid it. You can buy better knives from more reputable companies for a lower price. Same or better build quality and materials for a third of the price. I can get more detailed, but I don't want to write a book. You're welcome.

The motivmfg moleskin hunt coat is sick. They have an ochre color that even nicer. The hand on it is really unique and has a nice weight to it. Besides the folks over at division road will take care of ya super cool folks. And motiv’s patterns are really flattering to most body types.

If we’re talking about obnoxious mugs you need to talk about Eleiko’s 20lb mug. It fits the channel because Eleiko make premium products and it’s unique. Also rogue fitness did their own version.

I hear you man. Life has been throwing me a lot too lately. My dishwasher broke and I usually start my day with some KZbin and putting away dishes that were cleaned over night in there. Waking up to still dirty dishes with everything else I have going on was straight up devastating. All we can do is keep doing our best! Loving this series and I saw the freenote cloth mariner jacket too! Think I’m still gonna go with one of the RJ-2 waxed or denim instead though. Totally hear you on the sleeves being lined with something easier to slip on v flannel/wool. Another con with the thinner liner is it breaking down. Just had to have the sleeves replaced in a Taylor Stitch sashiko jacket with wool body and polyester (I think) sleeves. After 3 years, the lining had worn through and had holes. TS was cool about it though and reimbursed me for the cost from the tailor! Picked up some cotton hemp tees for the summer with my credit.

Thank you for the kind words, and I wonder what dishwasher you're looking to get? From what I've heard Bosch or Miele are the way to go. I actually have a Whirlpool from the 1980s thats still going strong! Its loud and uses tons of water but damn can that thing clean.

@@CoffeeWithCarl1 that’s awesome! Appreciate the recommendations. I actually rent but will keep it in mind when I do buy a home. For music next week, I’ve been listening to Zach Bryan and Flatland Cavalry. highly recommend checking out Zach Bryan’s red rocks concert which is on KZbin! I love listening to live music especially full concerts and KZbin has a lot. Hope your week lightened up for you! It did for me and I’m grateful. My wife made dinner a couple nights this week which allowed me some much needed rest.

As of 7:18 PM central time, they are sold out already. Seems like a nice jacket. Just can't see the price for it. I really enjoy everything about both channels. I think you being a blue collar person, it resonates with a lot of us. Since, I am also a blue collar person who enjoys certain high end things. Mostly boots and grills.

Regarding the price, the mouton is what really drove it up. That stuff is insanely expensive, but also almost unbeatable in terms of warmth. Filson is charging $1750 for their mouton vest. Dehen is at $1275 for their N1 mouton, and weatherwool has them all beat with $2500 for their mouton jacket. It's just a crazy material overall, and I understand that some people wont want to buy it. Still, its important that you know there isnt any price gouging or anything going on.

@@CoffeeWithCarl1 and the quality of the Filson is not what they used to be. And, the Freenotes I am sure with the highest quality. You do know what quality is, that's why I have 3 pairs of Whites and waiting on Nicks to be done...

More content from Carl!! Love my V3 & V4, but gonna pass on the mouton. The front lined pockets make the jacket look super puffy, and the sizing is weird. I look forward to the next light weight Workhorse (hopefully you can release a color similar to V1/2 for those of us who missed out 🙏 ) Still excitedly waiting to receive my camp shirts from Himel…

Ladies & Gentlemen…the man, the myth, the legend…Mr. Carl Murawski. I’ve always thought that James Brand Knives looked nice & they supposedly have good fit & finish, but were way overpriced. $300 for S35VN seems a bit high for a knife that based on competition should cost sub-$200. But hey, cost is only what you’re willing to pay, right? If you like it, grab it. I’m digging the old school/modern knives coming out recently that look like old slip joints and barlows. I stand corrected, I just looked up that knife and it’s a titanium frame with sycamore scales & S35VN blade steel. Price is much more justified. A little small at just over a 2.5” blade. No pocket clip on it either, Carl. But I do dig it. I’d have to figure out a way to get a pocket clip on it.

The James Brand is kind of odd, their basic EDC stuff seems pretty solid, but their knives are kind of middling. I got their Carter knife off of Huckberry, and while it's aesthetically pleasing, it just does not have good action in the way that even cheaper brands like Civivi does. Also never thought I would see my interests in heritage clothing and horror intersect but here we are with Carl mentioning Nexpo. 🙌

Hey, Carl. I know you've mentioned being a shorter guy, I assume average height, but do you have an issue finding pants that are the correct length? A lot of companies, even Carhartt, usually offer 30 inseam as their shortest length, and I always have to get my pants hemmed, being that I was blessed with shorter legs. I was curious if you have the same problem? Great video as always.

Hm, Le Creuset might not be the best comparison to IH for those mugs as they have retained their high prices while moving all their non cast iron production overseas. I have a couple pairs of Duckfeet shoes, recommended for people with wide feet like me, though I wish the heels were narrower. I’m considering having them resoled with Vibram Morflex when the time comes.

I'm sure there's a healthy markup on those mugs, but Le Creuset makes their mugs in China while IH makes them in Japan

That may be true, but I dont see the value. Maybe I just need to see/handle one in person? Just seems like a lot for a mug.

Gonna echo other people in saying to avoid the James Brand. The knives are mediocre at best, they're a lifestyle brand, probably the first one in the knife industry to actually spend money on marketing to people who wouldn't normally carry knives. This is why they can charge $300 for not particularly impressive folders. A slipjoint from Great Eastern Cutlery or even Lionsteel would be a far better value.
