Have started watching your videos and they are very informative. Been in Rc for 40 years but new to the Moki radial so trying to learn all I can and your information is the best by far

Respect. That was really informative and entertaining as well. Next time I want more coffee. That pesky gap is called valve lash and you have really mastered the art of adjusting it. Your explanation of valve train weight and its ill effects is gold.

I put a white mark on the hub at the point where both cam followers are at the half way point and then rotate 360 just as Dr. G. suggests. That same white mark will apply to all 5 cylinders and makes a good reference.

Nice video Gotz, you are a natural on camera, not! But I loved in a way meeting you for the first time after collectively hours of talking on the phone over the years. So the video series is a brilliant idea and I hope it will help you when you can say to your customers to check out the video instructions. A picture is definitely worth a thousand words, the lesson here is complete and easy to understand, please keep them coming and I'm sure you will be quite comfortable behind the camera in no time ;)

I do not own a Moki engine But i am looking forward to having one some day for my 1/5th Jerry Bates Seafury . I built it from a short kit and have maidened it with an EME 60 two stroke engine that barely had to power to fly it . It wound up being a 35lb airplane with that engine so im looking at getting a moki 180 ,

Great video Gotz! I might order a couple of carbon pushrods for my Moki 180. 😋 One thing though, I’ve read you have to adjust the valves 2 times due to the cam design. So rotate the prop 2 times 720 degrees? I’ve a SEP 25x16 3 blade myself so all good. You are not a “fan” of SL props and Ramoser for the Moki? Why?

You Sir are a rockstar thank you! Been waiting for someone else to say they adjust gap by feel! Perfect! Have you ever thought of doing locktight on the set screws? Not needed?

Has anybody noticed the slight imperfections in the cam ring? It seems you need to check the clearance in four complete revolutions of the prop or two consecutive “valve dances”. Set the lash to the smaller tolerance. Just something I noticed on my 250.
