Those little sanding wedges are neat for getting into tight spaces. Sorry about the decals but you managed to do a good job with them. The finished build looks great. You are now Hob-a-long Max. See you at the live stream.

Sorry about your foot and the decals! I use Testors Glosscote in the rattle can for old decal restoration. Two light coats usually do the trick.

Yep. Old Microscale decals that look great on the backing paper have actually seen their day. I've had the same experience with them coming apart. Grandkids, oh yeah. My youngest one decided to crouch down behind me. I began to move backward, but my feet had nowhere to go, and I slammed into the wall.

😅 That's a bummer about the decals. Grandkids make life interesting.

Hope you heal up quick. I have several beautiful sets of Microscale decals for P-51’s and Phantoms. They are probably almost 40 yrs old. I know they are toast but I guess I’ll just keep them for nostalgia. See you tonight at the livestream.

I can commiserate on the decal problem. A few years back I bought several sets of decal sheets by Microscale and others. I learned quickly to always use the decal liquid or the Testors decal spray. Microscale seems to have made their decals so very thin, as they age they get so brittle. 😢

Sorry to hear about the decals. I hate the fact that we all put in so much work and effort building a model but that last step, the decals, is the most perilous step and often there is no recovery plan B. We've all been there.

Might try Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic Coating spray. That’s what comes with the MicroMark decal making set.

I have the calendar hanging up, it's superb and fantastic quality as well, highly recommended. Sorry to see about the decals, I'll have a look around here in England for some. model on

I would have scanned or had someone with a good scanner copy the decal sheet for the possibility they would not handle being used. I have not had good luck with decal fixes

Love the artwork for the Rutland Reindeer from No Highway in the Sky! Are you grounded with the foot injury or are they going to give you a broomstick to push the rudder pedal? Wait that what the co pilot is for! Get well soon Captain!

I'm glad your wife likes the sanding sticks - LOL I guess a replacement set will have to be heading your way in a few months. I'll include a business card from their creator next time. The 3D printed plate was created by a Gloo Trooper from the Ottawa region - Dana John Nield. You know him as he has the historical YT/FB site called Canuks Unlimited. He creates SpaceX rockets like Ken does. So how does one damage a foot around kids? Did you badly twist your ankle while trying to avoid the trajectory of one of them.

Max for the love of modeling clear coat the decals. Use a clear lacquer.

Im kinda surprised that noone is mentioning scanning the decals prior to use in case you need to print your own...amazon has the decal materials cheap enough and as long as you have a color printer they should come out ok (my $0.02 worth)

I have built a couple of old Aurora plane kits and instead of using the original decals, I scanned them in the computer, used a paint program to refresh the markings and remove the background color, and printed new ones on some Testors decal paper. The Testors film is kind of delicate, but three coats of clear helps a lot. They came out great and I can always print new ones if needed.

Sorry to hear about your foot. On the bright side, modelling is something thay can be done seated. Sounds like some enforced modelling time for the next few days.
