The metal community is too far up its own ass. I say this as a lifelong metal head. From metal heads hating on metallica for daring to evolve in the Black album and Load etc. Or hating on them for cutting their hair. To hating on metalcore etc. It gets tiring. Seen AILD a long time ago with Shadow’s Fall and thought “that was a sick band” but stupidly never followed them. Later on heard about what happened and thought nothing more of it. Watched the discussion video which was heavy to bear witness to in its own right. And without hesitation clicked on the My Own Grave single and was blown away by the music and the delivery on which it was based. Then a couple videos back Ola mentions listening to the new album and says that the album is solid and has great riffs and leads. If anyone knows great riffs and leads it’s Ola. Been checking out the album ever since. Like them or not AILD are legit and solid as all fuck, really happy to see them just forging ahead and Nick is such a down to earth guy. Been waiting for this coffee with Ola since I saw a bit of footage from the AILD vlog. So far my fave episode.
