wasn't 'overran' - it was 'handed back' as part of the withdrawal agreement. The Taliban won a war that should never have been fought, started under false pretenses, with no clear objective (if you don't count the stupendous wealth transfer that occurred - taxpayer dollars going to the privatised war industries).
@rscoops39863 жыл бұрын
"taliban terrorists" is a bit overly simplistic. They're a fundamentalist government and Islamist militants, who are not too dissimilar in ideology to a lot of Middle Eastern countries we have relationships with, but only difference is Afghanistan is poor.

Never been to a war zone but have met a few soldiers who have. They were professional in their training and duty and some talked about their experiences, some not so much. Can't imagine what combat would be like so I have immense respect for those who have. By the way i'm Canadian so it's our soldiers i'm talking about but I imagine all professional soldiers deserve the same respect. Also the best coffee I ever had was Blue Mountain coffee in Jamaica.

the most interesting thing i have found about this video as of 2:15 into it is that at least one American was allowed into Turkey. thats awesome. now maybe if their government wasnt so terrible, we could get along with them as a country because the people there seem pretty cool
@AllHailRetro2 жыл бұрын
I went there this past summer for an au pair job. My friend, also American, went at the same time as me and she is still currently there working at an elementary school. Americans are allowed in the country.
@millermonsterair2 жыл бұрын
@@AllHailRetro allowed, yes, but in the same way the north korean government "allows" Americans in. like i said though, the turkish people seem pretty cool, based on this video and my Canik TP9SFX is the most enjoyable pistol ive ever owned. i dont like any of what the turkish government does, but the people there seem cool. id like to go one day and check out all the historical stuff there because i really like historical stuff. im a bit of a nerd about history, so turkey is one of the places id really like to go visit one day, but lets be honest. its not exactly a good time for it, considering whats all going on in that region right now.
@AllHailRetro2 жыл бұрын
@@millermonsterair Very, very different from the situation in North Korea. However, right now? I agree with that part. I was planning on going back to visit this summer, but I don't think I will be able to do that anymore. Istanbul specifically relies on tourists for money. Tourism is a huge part of there economy. But I can confirm that everyone I met there was really cool and always super nice and inviting.

Well after spending two years in Iraq and one in Afghanistan all I can say is my opinion is that they were never really our countries to lose and while I don’t regret being in the military at all we should not have been in Iraq at all and never should have stayed as long in Afghanistan. It was a lost cause well before we stayed for 20 years. And out great leadership just supplied the enemy as we left.
