The switches on mechanical keyboards actually aren't that loud. Where most of the volume comes from is the bottoming out, where the keycap essentially collides with the hard plastic or metal body. You can get dampening rings from companies like WASDKeyboards to greatly reduce this sound, though. Just FYI, I guess.

Brian Hunter Oehme Cherry MX Blue switches still click even with the O-rings. The rings just silence the bottoming out sound.

Speaking of mechanical keyboards. You can get rubber rings for them which can help reduce noise they make. Assuming you aren't using "clicky" switches (cherry mx blue, green and white ones) of course, because, you know, they will still click.
