While that is true. isn't it also true that cats who have stomach problems eat grass, rocks and so on to try crush up/excise whatever's stuck in their stomachs? Perhaps it was just that the blockage suddenly became worse (considering she was a stray, whatever it is in her tummy could've been there since before Dodger adopted her), and she started eating whatever rock-looking thing she could find to try and sort it out. Even though its true that strays have a certain... shall we say food fixation? as long as they're well fed, they usually don't let that side of themselves show, if you know what I mean?

I have a rescued pit bull who was previously owned by a neglectful hoarder, and she needed surgery for this exact problem a few months after we adopted her. It turned out she had eaten nearly a whole plastic bathmat in her previous home, probably out of desperation and hunger. It had to be surgically removed in 11 pieces, which was extremely scary, but she pulled through it just fine and she's so much stronger and healthier now. All that to say, I feel ya Dodger. Awww. I've had a few similar situations with a pet I used to have. He ate all sorts of things so we baby-proofed the house. He was also okay after a few days but we ended up bringing him to the vet a couple times because he kept eating rocks. He past away a few years back of old age. I hope everything works out with Watson and that you're able to figure out why she keeps eating certain things. I know what its like to have to deal with something like that and I'm sorry that you have to now. Also the mechanics seem like awesome people :D

Life sometimes can be like a clear pound when it stormy the dark clouds makes it so very sad or even frightening as the sun sets and darkness grows the last raindrops fall but even in this lightless moment if you stumble upon a flickering light of a distant campfire and hear the laughs of children you are ignited with emotion so it's ok to cry dodger crying is not a weakness it's appreciation appreciation for good time that passed for a promise that you so want still to believe in and even for a little guiding hope so dodger you are amazing ever since I stumbled upon you in a pax panel I believe it is called and even though seeing it through the screen is much less or not as good I still think that you are a very talented person and you deserve so much :)

Hi Dodger, I didnt see your video about Watson Kitty until today, I hope she is doing much better. I can understand how upsetting it is when a beloved pet gets sick and you worry (I have a wee westie called Hamish) Listening to you talk about Watsons eating the almonds I can relate to that, usually its a learned behaviour that they get when they are young and considering Watson was found as a wee stray I think its her motivation that when she was unsure when her next meal was she gorges on food when she has it available. Its the same for puppies brought up with alot of other puppies... if your not first your last. So i think you getting child proofing is very smart. So well done on being pet smart because its important. Much love to Watson and Sherlock :)

Really hope the surgery goes well. Having to take pets to the vet is always scary. I just lost one of my cats of 13 years to some sort of cancer or spinal disease paralyzing his entire back body over only a few days. He'd had a tumour that we tested a few years back, and they told us it was benign and that we couldn't do much, but it suddenly got worse rapidly. Had to put him down since he couldn't live like that. Not really related, but I really understand the anxiousness of waiting for answers, and not knowing exactly what's wrong with your little friends..

One of my dogs ate something that was tangled up inside of his stomach and he was throwing up everywhere. I was so scared when I heard he needed surgery. The vet told us that he may need some of his intestines removed, or even put down if his intestines were too far gone. Fortunately, we brought him in early, and he has been a healthy little jerk since.

Dodger, I have one of those cats that eats plastic and he once needed surgery for a similar blockage. I know it sucks- I needed to leave school for a bit to pay the surgery off. It's scary. I understand the feeling of having a pet go under for treatment. My baby girl had to undergo surgery to remove a (later confirmed to be benign) tumor from her chest, and she was 10 years old at the time, and a lab, which, going under anesthetic for a dog of that size and age is something you really don't want to try doing unless there's no other choice. Luckily, she made it through like a champ, and it was probably the best Christmas ever. God damn it, now I'm crying, but yes. I know how scary it is, and I know Watson will be all for the best afterwards, and how much brighter the world will be afterwards.

I felt that scared when my Sansa girl, [my 7 and 1/2 month old Aussie/Lab mix] ran away :( I didn't sleep, eat or, do anything but work, try and find her and, cry for like three days. I was an absolute mess. I found her a week and a half later, and I cried and probably almost killed my transmission stopping to jump out of the car :(. She ended up getting fixed just about a week ago. So I guess she's been home about 3 weeks almost. I know that scared/worried feeling and I would never want to experience it again....EVER. Here's to hoping Watson kitty's surgery was successful, and she's learnt her lesson on eating weird things.
