Just a nice note to add about Coffey Anderson, he offered to perform, on his dollar, at the 13 funerals of the service members that died from the bombing at the afghan airport during the evacuation. He did perform at 6 of them.

I've seen Coffey live a couple of times. He is from west Texas and provides a very entertaining live show. I think this song does tend to have more impact when he is performing it live. Great reaction.

Nice pick. I haven’t seen this one and as a female veteran I definitely don’t hate on the pronoun of Mr. because it truly is our men that lay down their lives for our country. I’m not saying women haven’t died for our country but our Men who are soldiers take the brunt of the cost no doubt. So Thanks for Keith and all our fellas that serve. I wouldn’t say it was the best patriotic song ever…that’s click bait but it was a good one.

@@BourbonCountryReacts you know I never really listened to the meaning of the words and never knew the story behind it until watching all kinds of foreign reaction channels to that story behind the star spangled banner. I’ll never call it looney tunes again, lol. So did you all snack on it in the Marines like we did in the Air Force? It played on base every day at 5pm and if we were outside anywhere we had to turn and face the music. If we had our civies on we stood at parade rest, hand over heart. If in uniform at attention and salute. I remember so many days rushing home from work trying to get into my dorm room before the music played. Picture me comically reaching for my door knob arms full of crap in uniform and the first not hits lol. Everyone would say…gotta go it’s almost time for looney tunes. That said we respected the hell out of the song outside of 5pm M-F coming home from duty 😆 I cried at my first retreat and now knowing the story behind it…brings me to tears nearly every time. It’s now on my bucket list to go to the Smithsonian and see “the flag that was still there” after all the “bombs bursting in air” 😢 🇺🇸

@Vicki Murphy actually had a Post CSM at Fort Carson. Me being a MP, we had to block off intersections around flag pole for retreat. That Post CSM demanded we write citations for anyone that did not exit there vehicle during retreat. We would and two the three days later, you would see that Soldier out there for about 10 days straight in full battle rattle making sure people got out of there vehicle and paid proper respect. Now when I was a senior NCO in company, I would always hold my Soldiers or require the to come back for last formation on most days to pay respect. 1645 in formation ready to go.

Yes he did the raw delivery, and some of those videos are on you tube, for the 13, he traveled to all that he was invited to at his cost. Showed up for free, and paid honors to the 13.

LMAO, this might as well be the rock version too. It's definitely not a country vocal. Like they said about Jason Aldean, it sounds like country Nickelback.

@Bourbon Country Reacts that was an accidental send like the small bottlesi sent, plus a few fingers or actual glasses in the system.
