Recommend watching at higher playback speed! Makes it sound like Alvin and the chipmunks, also makes me look like a faster framer

I've been building for 40 years and that was sweet. Nice install bro.

Your gaining a little bit each truss at the bottom because of the gang nail plates & nail heads, so every 3 or 4 trusses you gained probably 1/4" whereas the top spacer blocks are timber to timber 😉 Good to see you uploading some new POV vids though. UK Carpenter & Joiner here in the UK for 37yrs so good seeing how you guys do stuff across the pond. I do quite a lot of cut roofs & loft conversions but not touched trusses for donkeys years now.

Crane days were always my favorite… even spent a few years in commercial where I had 2/3 dedicated tower cranes every day, I was the back up operator at one point (the full time operator had the brown bag flu almost once a week lol).

Doing this is the closest thing I can think of to working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. And those girders are f n beautiful. Made me feel alive just watching your pov.

Good work setting trusses in one hour 😊 Now you need a truss manufacturer to get a complete set of trusses when you need them.

@@johnbeckwith8313 Doing it this way he created so much extra work because he didn't snap any control lines on the outside walls. All the tails could have been cut to length on the ground which of course is far easier and faster than all the extra time he spent on ladders.

You could've stacked all of the truusses on one end of the building with the gable on top, and then slid it to the other end of the building...then snap a line 1-1/2" in from the outside edge of the wall. Toe nail the bottom cord to the wall, apply sheathing, blocks, facia, soffit, and stand it up. Nobody standing around waiting on the crane. Nail the spacer blocks at the peak andTepeat. It's a one man job!

Or because you’re normal paying 1-2 hr minimum on a crane you could do it the way Jarod did it and make it easier and cheaper even if not cheaper. Plus the you’d likely need a scaffolded to support those trusses maybe hard to tell from video
@JimWatsonTheframingMagician
@JimWatsonTheframingMagician 5 ай бұрын
@@keenanpeterson5136 support the trusses where? Nail 2x4 straps to the outside of the gable and stand it up and nail the straps to the outside wall. Stand up 3 more trusses and nail a stringer on the top of the top cord and nail each each truss to it. Run a cat walk on the bottom cord and then a diagonal brace from the top of the gable down to it. As far as scaffolding goes: you can build a hand rail on the outside wall before you raise it. Then run planks on the inside of the wall less than 4 foot of the floor.
