Ganyan na ganyan kami ng naging bestfriend ko nung high school. Madalas ko pa samahan sya pag may training sya sa volleyball, sinasamahan nya ko sa basketball ko. Di namin akalain na may nararamdaman na pala kami sa isat-isa. Gay sya at lalake ako. Pero di ko siya kinahiya. Pinaglaban ko pa kung anong meron sa amin. Pero syempre, graduation na, nagkahiwalay kami ng lugar para sa career. Wala kaming closure. Hanggang may anak na ako, nagkita kami sa reunion. Yung may halong saya at lungkot nung nagkita kami. Gusto ko na sana ibalik yung dati samen, hiwalay naman ako sa asawa ko. Kaya ko ulit siya panindigan, ipaglaban, ang kaso lang... Kasal na sya sa Australiano. 10yrs kami di nagkita, yung sabik na dahil nakita ko sya ss reunion napalitan ng lungkot. Pero ok lang, ganyan talaga buhay. Minsan panalo, minsan talo. Edit (06/24/2020): Sa katunayan, yung kanta ko na Akin Ka Na Lang, para sa kanya talaga yun.. Pero syempre, kahit wala na, life must go on. Wow, this one of those rare stories na yung lalaki ang "nasaktan" instead of yung gay. COF Cinema, this story seems like a good material for another LGBT production you might want to put up. Although, baka naman in some of your LGBT works, magbigay din sana kayo ng happy ending.

This is what Asian Society expectations are and you do give up on love and happiness to not disappoint your family or Society for fear of rejection. In the Western World we do not do that. It's been exactly 4 years since I last saw this short film. And actually this was our inspiration for our own class short film in our school film fest when I was in senior high. And even after watching it now, the feelings and emotions contained in this film never fails to give me goosebumps. Like I can't explain how natural and raw the expressions are when the actors portrayed their roles here. And top it all, I first discovered Ben & Ben here through the ost "Leaves". And btw, I was the script writer for our film "Bye-sexual". And yes, we quite bagged some awards during the film fest. So yes, this BL short film for me is one of the top-tier.

Aww. This reminded me of my college friend. Who became my roommate. He was one of my closest friend. We weren't classmates but we run the same circles sa college. Crush ko na sya before pa. Pero siyempre yung idea na magiging kayo eh malabo, I wasn't even sure if he'd fall for the same sex. So medyo hopeful thinking lang. We treated each other kinder compared sa other friends namin na binabalahura namin. Hehe. And we became close. Super close, na kulang nalang label. He was sweeter, more patient,, more soft spoken to me than sa ibang lalaking Tropa namin. Gusto nya lagi kasama. Magtatampo kapag umayaw ako sa lakad. Fast forward. Pero may ugali syang ayaw ng mga friends namin, especially Yung mga classmates nya na nakatira sa same rented apartment. So medyo nag away away, and he was left with like 2 weeks notice bago sinabi na they're not gonna live with him anymore. So he ran to me... Kung pwede daw ako nalang kasama nya. So ako naman naawa, at pumayag, since my contract was about to end naman sa dorm ko. At syimpre crush ko nga. Hahaha. we lived together for like years, naging super close kami, but we never entertained the idea sexually. Lol. Kasi may gf din sya at ayaw ko masira yun, and I'm friends with her too. Per there were nights na Hindi sya natutulog sa upper deck Ng kama and he'd ask if he can sleep on my bed, tabi nalang daw kami. Hahaha. Per Wala parin nangyayari, parang tanday lng like real male friends na walang malisya. And that went on for like a year, nawala din Yung pagka crush ko, and parang Tropa Lang talaga. Until 1 night, sa last semester before sya nag graduate, naginuman kami sa apartment, tapos Sabi nya, dito nalang uli sya sa kama ko... Baka daw malaglag sya. So ayun na nga, we were drunk, Wala namang sex, and it started like nagka lapit mukha namin, we can feel each other's breath. Kinabahan din ako, pero parang gusto ko Rin, per ayaw Kasi nga may gf. tapos nagulat ako bigla na Lang nya ako hinalikan sa lips. Like a deep passionate kiss, dalak ng alak. I thought gusto lng nya I try, pero napunta sa torrid. Ahahaha. Pero hanggang dun Lang. Curious lng din cguro, but I know we both felt something. Pero we denied it Kasi magkakagulo. The following months, parang naging iba treatment ko sa kanya. Parang cold na galit, Kasi Everytime na Makita ko sila Ng gf nila nagselos ako. Kala ko wala ako feelings. Haha. Pero yeah, so he graduated, I was left alone, we moved on with our lives...10 years later, abay ako sa kasal nila ng same gf nya nung college. And now mag ninong sa 1st baby this coming June. I'm happy for them.

This is the first BL-themed short film that I've watched without the censored parts, and I love it so much. It focuses on the other aspects of life that an LGBTQ person experiences. The lines are very on point and the casts delivered it as if they where their first hand experience (their eyes talk as well as if it where windows to an open soul). Ito na yata ung summary of all my pains and sorrows sa buhay (relate na relate ako kay Red). Kudos to all the working people behind this film. This is so beautiful. The angle, the lights,......and the dialogue just pierce your soul. A lot of BL focuses on the insanely beautiful boy's looks, on the sex, on the melodrama. "This Night" focuses on reality and the pain one has to endure facing that reality. I feel like i'm eavesdropping on an authentic and beautiful relationship that was never given the chance to fluorish but has given me so much insights on how to endure and to go on. Kudos to the writer.

It might be short but it's one of the best Filipino made gay films I've watched, wc are mostly sensual and shallow, Ang cliche' 🤮 This is even better last years gay web series. Thank you! Hindi ako sumasama sa lakad ng barkada pagkasama si exbestfriend ko.. During that time na nakikita ko silang magkasama, i dont know kung bakit may kung anong feeling akong nararamdaman.. Galit o selos.. para kasing may mali... Bakit ako nagseselos sa atensyon ng kaibigan ko.. Vacation ng 2nd year 2nd sem sa college before the classes start I recieved a text message to from my exbestfriend.. Usap daw kami.. I ask my self if ready nba ako.. Sabi ko siguro ready na ako.. Sabik na ako marinig kwento niya.. susubukan kung ibalik yung dati.. So we meet up to talk.. Nagkwento siya, break na daw sila ng gf niya.. nagsosorry sa ginawa niya sa akin.. napatawad ko naman siya.. balik ulit kami sa dating set up.. Balik kami bilang magbestfriend.. Until nararamdaman ko na iba na yung treatment niya sa akin.. Lagi na siyang nangangamusta, he always pick me as his partner on our report at activities. Kahit saan siya magpunta lagi niya akong sinasama kahit pagbibili ng lunch o magpupuntang compshop. Dahil dun hindi ko namalayan nahulog na pala ako sa kanya.. Pero ayoko mag assume ng ano pa man.. Baka ganun lang siya mag alaga talaga ng kaibigan..At saka alam ko lalaki siya.. A few months later, yun na nga.. Nagtapat siya ng feelings niya sa akin..He wants to talk to me with a serious matter..Nafall na daw siya..Why dont we try daw to the next level.. Ako naman why not, its a new experience.. so I answered him Yes.. and nagtapat din ako ng nararamdaman ko para sa knya.. More than a friend.. Sinugal ko yung sarili ko sa isang bagay na hindi ako sigurado kung ano yung kalalabasan.. Takot sa simula lalo na sa sasabihin ng iba.. Pero inisip ko rin saan ba ako sasaya.. Yes naandun yun negatibong tingin ng lipunan sa ganitong relasyon pero sa huli kayo naman ang magdadala nun.. Susubukin talaga kayo ng nakapaligid sa inyo hanggang sa puntong gusto mo na lang bumitaw at magpadikta sa kung ano daw talaga ang "tama" sa pag tingin ng iba.. naniwala lang kaming dalawa sa pagmamahal at sa mga taong higit na nakakakilala sa amin.. at this moment, 14 years na kaming magkasama.. Nakatira na ako sa kanya and were living with a happy life.. No regrets on our decisions 14 years ago.. Naging sandigan namin ang isat isa sa pagsagwan sa agos ng buhay..

This short film never gets old, when reality strikes no matter how strong your love for each other it will be you who would choose the result, dahil kapag nagmahal ka wala namang tamang panahon, lugar at oras, kapag nagmahal ka wala ka namang pwedeng gawin kundi sumugal, sumugal sa sarili mo para gawin kung ano ang mas mag papasaya sayo, isang sugal na pwedeng para sa iyo ay tama pero mali para sa mga taong nakapalibot sayo, sugal sa pagmamahal para sa sarili o sugal nang pagtanggap nang liponang puno nang discrimination... love is not always right nor wrong, but loving yourself first is one step to endure pain given by those people who think they have the right to judge or discriminate others... just a thought though, peace...
