I used this on camping recently. I liked it so much I bought my own. It works great. A couple things; 1) Just screw the handles in as tight as you can by hand (when the iron is cool). I believe the handles are left removable for storage. 2) the latch works great when you have enough stuff inside to keep pressure on the latch. 3) We seasoned the cooker before using it, even though it is pre-seasoned. We also held it over the fire or coals, and didn't set it in the ash. I think if you give it another shot, you may actually like the product. I also ended up purchasing double iron, to cook two items at once. Thanks for the video.

I get the feeling that you struggle with everyday objects and situations. None of this stuff is rocket science. You tighten the rods with heavy pliers. If you under fill the iron the latch doesn't engage. Pretty simple concepts...

Hi Rachel. Thank you for the video! I had good luck with the Casa Uno pie iron from Amazon. Very sturdy.

Hello. I have just used mine this past week on a camping trip and I was able to tighten it on site. I just detached the two irons and used the grill as a sort of vise. I just put the wide end of the iron through the bars of the heavy cast grill and twisted with both hands. It's on there now, haha. I did notice that the handle on one side has come a bit wobbly, but I think they are just a soft wood, so I will likely replace with some hardwood in the future. Happy Grilling!

Put a log under the grill and set the pie iron on the grate so it doesn’t burn.

Hi Rachel. First again. Those handles could be fixed if you drill & tap a thread for a grub screw (no pun intended this this time.) We call it Moo-zarella because it's made from cow's milk.😊😉 I would prefer it, if they had been a few inches larger. Say just a bit bigger than a slice of bread. Another great review. Love to Lila💖 Paul

They are not preseason !you need to burn off the manufacturing coating and reseason it with avocado oil or grapeseed oil.

Grap the rod with a adjustable wrench at the crimp they are using to hold the latch, and I think you and tighten it up, tighter then NOT. Can you make up another one of those and email it to me? That looked good👍

The end result looked delicious😋 Sorry the product in general was a fail 😕 I do not own any, so I have no additional advice to offer. I might have made mine using Pita bread though😉 Also, not sure, but I think it might be pronounced “KOGE-lan” (like ROUGE)??

Hello TRAY - B. I belief the name Coghlan is of Irish decent and is pronounced and please excuse me Cocklan. It's also the name of a lake in Yucon , Canada . Paul

I did some Googling and their definition is " the Irish name of O Coghlain " . Which means " descendant of Coghlan or Mac Coghlain meaning the "son of Coghlan" Paul

This complicated cooking device may be too advanced for your abilities. Perhaps kabobs would be simpler. Careful not to pierce your hand.

Nail polish on the screw ends will lock the handles in place.

You could possibly use a product called LocTite to coat the screw threads to prevent the undesired unscrewing. But, I agree with you that this product is really not worth the rehabilitation effort given the many other issues that you pointed out. I am shocked that the pan halves are not big enough to accommodate a standard slice of bread. That alone should be a DNR. Good review. Thanks!

They are meant to be smaller then the slice of bread in order to seal in the edges to make it more of a hot pocket type of deal... It's designed that way

That's why the Roma ones are better, imo. Also, you don't have to loctite the iron to the handle.
@JohnDoe-gh9cm2 жыл бұрын
There's blue and red loctite, red is the the "non" removable loctite but when subjected to 400 deg temps will let go. So loctite will not work and should no t be used around food. Just use pliers, they will always loosen because of the expansion and contraction of heating up and cooling down.

The rods are removable so you can season the cast iron or for storage.
