The symbol of the Nazi regime should never be called a "swastika". The word is from the Sanskrit "su" meaning "good" and "asti" meaning "being" (so "swasti" basically means well-being"). The Nazis called their symbol a "Hakenkreutz" meaning "hooked-cross" in German.

I've had my non-Jain friends always asking that I'm killing organisms all the time, even while I'm writing this but here's the thing. Until and unless you don't kill something on purpose, it is fine but if you try saving them, that is religion to us. My grandpa designed our house in a way that we don't need to use artificial light till 7 pm, sunlight is enough. This is the kind of dedication we have for the religion and ahimsa.
@2bit8bytes4 жыл бұрын
How does Jainism interpret artificial light(electricity, fire?) as killing organisms and how does it interpret the sun as not? Microscopic organisms die from dry/hot surfaces and encouraging/designing sunlight everywhere can be construed as 'killing organisms', so if that's the case wouldn't artificial light save organisms too? By that same token, with our stomach microbiomes, changing diet significantly can be considered killing the bacteria, or even creating along side it? 8:54 In the video it said the monks/nuns can't cook so they go to other households, but isn't it likely they'll be going to less devout(relatively, by nature of their positions they've chosen) people who wouldn't inspect or be as strict with their preparations? Wouldn't making the food themselves save more organisms overall? (ie family makes B-grade food for 4 and monk makes A-grade food for 1 vs family making B-grade food for 5)
@russiakavladmir35314 жыл бұрын
@@2bit8bytes well it is believed that sun is the only source of energy on this planet, so all organisms can bare it to some extent. Artificial electricity is not completely banished since regular jains use it, things get more strict when you opt to become a sadhvi or maharasaab (nun or monk) As far as cooking is concerned, many of them are on fasts for like weeks, and when they eat, it is usually fruits. Also they travel in groups, since to cook you need to burn which can cause killings, it is the duty of regular jains to provide food to such great people. Also many eat only ripened fruits with MINIMUM seeds and ensure they go back to soil so the cycle of life for the fruit keeps running. A lot more to tell but I hope it helps. We have different kinds of fast like Ekaasan, Byassan, Aimbil, Choviaahar Upvas, Neevi etc. They have abolished everything related to world and are on a trip to inner peace, you might not get food some day, but that is something that shouldn't bother you.

We have originated in India, diversity is in our blood. Who am I to proselytize anyone's philosophy. Saint? God? Do whatever you want to. Believe in paramatma or Jesus. Jai Jinendra! I come from Hong Kong, China. 🇭🇰🇨🇳 At first, I knew about Jainism on the Internet, then I was really touched by the principle of Ahimsa in Jainism. Jains are strict vegetarians, they even don’t eat root vegetables! Monks and nuns step forward to carry their peacock feather whisks to brush the insects and other tiny beings away. Jains’ compassion extend to ALL living beings in the world, even universe. Where can I find these great people in the world? Unfortunately, in the cultural background of my place raised in, I almost have no chance to encounter this great religion. Most of the people here even haven’t heard of the word ‘Jainism’. I wish I could stay in India for a certain period of time to deeply learn about this great religion one day. Or even becoming a Jain nun. I respectfully bow to all followers of Jainism in the world!!!

But the most subtle of all of the ways is by making conclusions. People love to jump to conclusions, conclude(to shut up), notice how the word begins with con. Is going through external wars, civil wars, because his land of origin has natural resources. Not taken seriously and treated as second/third class citizen when he becomes a refugee. Only then you'd understand the hell that some Arabs are going through because they're stuck between evil, hyper materialistic nations such as Russia, US, China and evil, fanatic organizations such as ISIS, Al-Qaea, and some Shiite Militias. You can see thought that degrading women was also common inJainism, remember the Digambaras and Svetambaras conflicting ideas? The Digambaras were the original and more older type of the two. That means that until the Svetambaras were aa thing, women were completely excluded from finding Moksha. IT would be like as if one of the three monotheistic western religions explicitly says that woman cant go to heaven.

In 2015 I visited Japan and went to a Buddhist monastery in Kyoto, I saw them consuming beef.

Namaste Gee, Vedas:Svetashvatara Upanishad chapter 4 verse 19 As well as in: “There is no image of Him” (Svetashvatara Upanishad 4:19) It is mentioned in Yajurved Chapter 32 Verse 3 “There is no image of Him” (Yajurved 32:3) It is also mentioned in Yajurveda Chapter 40 verse 9 “They enter darkness those who worship natural things (for e.g. air, water, fire, etc.). They sink deeper in darkness those who worship sambhuti i.e. created things (for e.g. table, chair, car, idol etc.) (Yajurved 40:9) Idol worship, which is very common amongst the Hindus, is prohibited in Hinduism. It is mentioned in Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7 verse 20: “Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires they worship demigods i.e. idols.(Bhagavad Gita 7:20) * Hindu Scriptures: "There is only ONE God, not the second; not at all, not at all, not in the least bit."[Brahma Sutra] * Hindu Scriptures: "He is ONE ONLY without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1] Hindu Scriptures: " O friends, do not worship ANYBODY but Him, the Divine One. Praise Him ALONE."[Rigveda 8:1:1] Hindu Scriptures: "I am the goal of life, the LORD and support of all, the inner witness, the abode of all. I am the only refuge, the ONE true friend; I am the beginning, the staying, and the end of creation; I am the womb and the eternal seed. I am heat; I give and withhold the rain. I am immortality and I am death; I am what is and what is not"[Bhagavad Gita 9:18-19] Hindu Scriptures: "There is no likeness of Him." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19] * Hindu Scriptures: "His form is not to be seen; no one sees Him with the eye." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 4:20] * Hindu Scriptures: "That which cannot be seen by the eyes, but by which the eyes see, [Kena Upanishad] * Hindu Scriptures: "The Formless Supreme Spirit that pervades the universe can have no material representation, likeness or image." -- (Yajur Veda Hindu Scriptures: "He is bodiless and pure." [Yajurveda 40:8] Scriptures: "Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [Svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9] Hindu Scriptures: "They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, but those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time" (Yajur Veda)

Very nice video. As a Proud jain I would like to add some more points here : 1. We are a peaceful religion and always try to keep calm . We try to avoid fight as much as possible . However we won't tolerate any injustice. 2.For those who are wondering our rules are very strict , pls try to understand that practically we common jains don't follow many rules. But the jain sadhus sant follow each and every rule. For example I eat my dinner at 8pm. 3. There are some bad people in our sect also .They are everywhere . Sadly Some jains also eat non veg food . 4. For those thinking that pure vegetarian food have very less taste and variety , I feel pitty for u all as you know nothing.Its just heavenly food . 5. We always try to help each other and everyone else. If we become obsessed with our religion we become more nice person lol 6.Although our Population is only near 60 lakhs in India but our contribution is immense. 7. Most of the big businessmen like Oswal Mehtas Etc are jains. 8. JETHALAL 😂is also a jain .😂😂 In (TMKOC )a popular Indian show.😌 9. We respect all religions especially Hinduism a lot , we love hindu mythology And also worship hindu gods. But we are not same religions. We share some common things . 10. Jainism is a way of life. We are proud of our religion , And Country India.🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳😊😊🙏🏻🙏🏻 Jai jinendra to everyone. If any doubts pls ask me. You can upvote if u like so that it can reach maximum people. 😊🙏🏻🇮🇳🇮🇳 jai hind

Things you missed about a Jain monk: •Jain monks don't cut their hairs or beard as its an outer service rather they unroot it by hands. • Jain monks eat and drink once a day. • Jain monks take a vidhi( a correct pattern of something which they already decide in their mind before going in search of food) and if this vidhi is not seen by them through their feeders they don't eat that day. (eventually this vidhi is very simple and common so that they can eat but not always). • Jain monks only have two possessions with them kamandal( in which they keep water for excretion) and pichi made of peacock feathers but only fallen off one(helps to remove microorganisms before sitting anywhere). • When they realise their end time is near they set themselves on complete fasting .
