I've been having so much trouble in these types of questions, but now it's so much more clearer and simpler. Thank you again Cognito!

Sometimes we're expected to know the state symbols to reactions we haven't seen before, and they don't tell us their melting or boiling points. How are we supposed to know?

Ask your teacher or check your notes, most probably, you might just have to go with a general estimate for the general melting and boiling points for solids, liquids and gases. But answers definitely won't be 100% correct that way.

In the exam you should have a periodic table with you and each group of elements would have similar melting/boiling point and i guess you could estimate around that but I’m not sure :/

@Cognitoedu5 жыл бұрын
That’s rough!! Look up the specification and find all the elements you need to know the melting and boiling points of! Slap them on flash cards and practise for a few mins every day - you’ll know them in no time! Good luck 🙌
