Hello! Thanks for the video. Very informative. When the conductor is completed to a circuit, and the circuit is moving up, the current should flow in the opposite direction that you are showing in the video.
@YvesLuyens
@YvesLuyens Жыл бұрын
I agree with you, the negative charges are pushed to the opposite direction of the current, which means that the electrons are going from + to -. This induces e.m.f, just like a battery and in a battery, current flows from - to +

Yes! Since the potential difference keeps changing, an a.c (alternating) current is produced, and this is the current that is usually used in mains electricity, for example.

Why does moving the wire upward and downloaded provides emf? And why does it swap every time it passes through the field?
@moshi5613
@moshi5613 2 жыл бұрын
The wire cuts through the magnetic field lines and this is what induces a potential difference in the wire. That's why if the wire is not moving/the magnetic field is not changing, there is no induced p.d since it is not experiencing a change in the magnetic field. The seconf part is a little bit harder for me to explain since i'm not familliar with the concept but I believe that the direction of the emf opposes the polarity of the original magnetic field, depending on the direction the wire is moved in. Hopefully that helps a little bit.
