Thank you so much for this. I have a collection of import rhythm games with specialty controllers that need the USB port so running ISO's off thumbdrive was not going to cut it. This was the golden solution to my niche situation and you forever have my gratitude.

Hello do you know if, on freemcboot, the esr option and the swap magic 3.8 elf. work on a scph-39000 model PS2?

I jus got me a secondary PS2 and Mechapwn'd for this region bypass all avoiding bootdisc, my primary when I do it's ala HDD

That's the thing, not every slim is exploitable through Mechapwn. 70K series will not do a thing at all.

​@@Wesmoen I can't with slims I wish I knew way back then, the ribbon cable from the ODD rings+damages discs. I've had to resurface quite a few already and those were purchases that arrove I playtest and into the stash.. those ten minutes=enough to ruin

Does Cogswap let you play backups of your PS1 games?

I have not tested this. I've read on the internet you don't even need cogswap, if you start the console with a ps1 disc and FMCB memory card, it should take you to the browser, and register a ps1 game, you can then swap discs without triggering the lid mechanism, put in a backup and click on the black cd icon. Essentially it buffers the fact it has a ps1 disc in. Again i have not tested this, but i found it in a few places now. Perhaps i should try it and do another vid 😄

Can cogswap do damage to a ps2 inside materials ?

Not if you do it correctly, theres no inherent risk increase. You can always scratch a disc by not being careful handling them, or on a fat you have to be careful with the slide tool, but its the same risk as if you were using a swapmagic disc.

*the Fat PS2 you have to remove the panel and use a slider to swap disc it takes a lot of time and wears out your beloved PS2* 👎🏻
